Try wetting the soil thoroughly. I like to submerge the pot in a larger bucket or bin to make sure there are no air pockets. What kind of soil and what are you feeding? Any way to test pH?

I'd guess it is too wet under the surface, is it? Is the pot heavy or light? At least in my opinion the plant pot is too big for this small plant. If the plant would have suffered from drought then we would see other damage, not just a few spots but whole dying leaves. That's why my bet is on the allmighty overwatering. Or the soil is low quality or wrong composition.

I’d guess Calcium.
Add a little bit of gypsum see if it slows or clears the issue with the new growth.
