Know how serendipity regularly drops things in your lap if you are paying attention, will here is one that I would like to share, which I am pretty pleased with.

In the process of developing cannabis oil infused lollypop, I came to blend the concentrated candy oils used to flavor hard candy, with cannabis oil before stirring into the candy. Both the Spearmint oil and Cinnamon that I have tested so far worked well used that way as a menstruum.

The serendipity part came when I gave a 1 dram bottle of such a Spearmint oil mix to one of the patients to experiment using in food. Three drops in a chocolate milkshake had about a 45 minute onset and significant body and head effect.

I subsequently made some 33% more potent and used cinnamon oil at about a 50/50 ratio with ethanol washed and decarboxylated BHO cannabis oil. A drop on the tongue is delightful, and the effect impressive.

LorAnn Oils has about 80 different candy flavoring oils to try. My next will be Blackberry and one patient has asked for Pino Collota.

This is good stuff! Hope ya’ll try some.

This is about more than just flavor... a very promising avenue of study but also a potential Pandora's Box, take care GW!

Check out this piece of info I saved off the web, I think SamS wrote it:
"Studying the Effects of Terpenes

To the Society of Cannabis Clinicians:
Most interesting to me are the modulating effects of the 120
Terpenoids found in Cannabis. Pure THC is pretty boring, flat, one dimensional with little individuality. Not sure I would be a Cannabis smoker if THC was all there was. But add a small amount of Terpenoids and the picture changes, some Terpenoids like Limonene make the subjective high much faster in onset and much stronger, with rushes, more clear, speedy, up, cerebral, euphoric, psychedelic. While other
Terpenoids like Myrcene make the THC physical, mellow, sleepy, as well as stronger.
It has been obvious to me for more then 20 years that Terpenoids played a major role in modulating the effects of THC, but now for the first time I have proof. I did the work with a volcano, using liquid pads for putting the Cannabinoids/Terpenoids on, and used Cannabinoids that were 99%+ purity.
I tried pure THC, THCV, CBD, CBN, CBG, and CBC will be next, I have gram+ amounts of each. I have also tried a dozen pure Terpenoids with and without Cannabinoids. I used the Musty drug reaction scale before and after dosing as well as a better more specific one designed by myself for all of the tastes, smells and effects of the Terpenoid/Cannabinoid
inter-reactions. I have 10 subjects so far doing the testing with me.
The bottom line is that all of the reported different effects of
different varieties of Cannabis are reputed to be from the
Cannabinoids. But besides the effects from THC and very occasional small amounts of CBD found in herbal Cannabis, all of the different reported subjective effects are in fact from the Terpenoids/THC. This has to be good news for proponents of herbal Cannabis over pure THC for medicine? I do not know if the Terpenoids are as active in modulating THC if the dose is oral by eating.

This set off all kinds of lights in my head, I'd long had the feeling that the aromatics must play a key role in the high, the experiences with similar tasting/smelling strains was too much to be coincidence. Also, I have a little ceramic dome that I store my oil under, every time I take a hit, I first remove the dome and take a big whiff of the aromatics that accumulate there, it seems I get high just from the aroma- and feel that I have been subconsciously doing this because it potentiates the high from the oil.

Good information. I was aware of the interaction between cannabinoids, but not with turpenes from other plants.

I'll play close attention!

Good info Grey I like how your pushing it with cooking. I also like to cook with oil and hash. My last batch I infused a half cup of ghee with 64 grams of hash. I added about of tblspoon of ground cinnamon to the ghee also. I then made brownies baked at a low temperature of 275. Each brownie has about 4 grams of b grade bubblehash in it. Haven't tried any yet though.

I have noticed taking a digestive enzyme after eating can make edibles more potent. Probably due to easier digestion.

Anyhow looking forward to reading more of your posts.

Thanks! Good info on the digestive enzymes. I'll try it!

Wow! 4 grams of even B grade hash does sound potent!

As a patient you no doubt have raised tolerance, but I would be inclined to be careful who I shared those with. Tolerances vary a lot and hash OD's are not a pleasant thing.

Good to see you pushing the envelop!

I'm very careful about who I share them with and how much I let them take.

It's nice because they are so potent that someone with a more reasonable tolerance than me can take pill sized pieces and still really feel the effects.

A normal dose for me would be half of one that comes out to around 2 grams of hash in a 1 sq inch brownie. I like the dose to be as concentrated as possible cause honestly I've come to detest the taste of pot/hash when eaten. I used to love it, but when you use that much it just gets nasty.

We make hash with a washing machine and consider anything that doesn't fully melt or come close to it "cooking hash". Most of the "cooking hash" is still bubbly tho and really potent it's just kinda harsh to smoke. Sometimes we cook with lower grade BHO. We consider BHO that doesn't solidify to be the lower cooking grade again it's still very potent just a harsh smoke.

I'd like to try that cinnamon oil I'm gonna check out lorann oils.

I'll let you know when I try my new batch. My last batch was a no bake fudge recipe with 2.5 grams in each 2in piece. Lasted me almost two months. This one I made more potent so I could eat less. I haven't tried my new brownies yet cuz I'm sick with a bad cold right now and they really dehydrate you. Excellent for chronic pain management though. There are people who have completely weaned themselves off of painkiller pills because of edibles like these.

I'm gonna go check out your other threads now.

I would like to use his method to combine the BHO and the candy flavor oil. But I'm not sure what equipment/apparatus to use to warm/hold the BHO and candy flavor. Since the amount is so tiny, I am at a loss of how to do this...thx

The reason I ask is that Lemon Grass oil has high concentrations of
Myrcene. Since Myrcene is thought to potentiate (amplify) the effects of Cannabis, itt'd be a natural avenue to explore when you're looking for flavoring for edibles. Especially candies.

While I was in Nimbin recently at the 2008 Mardi Grass, I had the opportunity to sit and blow a joint with Ed Rosenthal.
We got to talking about Terpenes, with particular regard to a chapter in Ed's latest Book, "The Big Book of Buds Vol. 3",
called 'The Secret Chemistry of Cannabis Odors and Highs'.
The discussion led to a Terpene known as Myrcene, which is the most prevalent Terpene found in most varieties of Cannabis,
but not found in hemp. It is also present in high amounts in mangos, hops, lemon grass, West Indian bay tree, verbena
and the plant from which it derives it's name Mercia.
Myrcene appears in small amounts in the essential oils of many other plants.
It's odor is described as clove-like, earthy, green-vegetative, citrus, fruity with tropical mango and minty nuances.
Without going into too much detail from the book, Ed explained that the presence of Myrcene was an important factor in
the quality and enjoyment of the high from smoking certain Cannabis strains, particularly those strains that came from
tropical climates...namely Sativas.
Ed went on to tell me that it was possible to enhance the quality of the high from a low potency bud, through the addition
of Myrcene. He went on to say that this could in fact be tested and verified. And this is how he told me to do it.
Say I had a nicely grown bud that was lacking in the 'Zing' department when smoked. If I was to eat a Mango one hour
before smoking the bud, Ed said the addition of Myrcene to my body from the mango, would have a profound impact on
the quality of the high, and I would notice the 'Zing' that was missing, had I just smoked the bud without having eaten the mango.

Yes folks, you heard it here. You can improve the quality of the high from a bud you smoke, if you eat a fresh mango ONE
HOUR before smoking!

If I use hash in baking, I use 1/3 gm in one cookie or brownie for an 8 hour high. Any more is a waste, as I fall asleep!
