Cannabis Maintenance for better yield

Hello,

Im running my first grow and i was reading about cannabis maintenance. I know that has bending, topping , fimming , LST and HST .

If i use one of this technics can i use together with other ? in my searchs HST(supercropping) is the best choice for better yield .

Other thing is : i have a grow tent with 2m tall , can i start using this technics since the plants are youngs or wait untill the size that i want for than do it ?

Thanks :)

See what works best for you!!

Quick maturing crops, LST....bend branches/main stalk. Others, topping. Don't like topping as it stresses a plant...my experience. Why stress a plant unless warranted. However have topped accidentally due to clumsiness.

You can start LST when you have secondary branches, or bend the cola.

It's a personal preference/choice.

LST is my preferred method,as said above topping etc causes more stress and adds to flowering time. You can start lst as soon as you get first true leaves. Start em early and they become used to it.

hello,

thanks for the all replies .

Im growing in soil. ill let my plants get full mature (about 2/2,5 months in veg).
So i this case topping is a good option ? HST(supercropping) is a good choice as well?

Use whatever u need to to fill a canopy perfectly. Stress and training techniques don't increase yield. they are just tools to fill the canopy with healthy bud sites. Understanding canopy spread, stretch, Distance from bulb to plant, and max distance from bulb to back of plant, without creating larf are the keys. Fill in the canopy without overcrowding for maximum efficiency.

Every strain has a certain genetic potential in terms of yield. No matter what we do, we cannot surpass this point. With that being said, many growers do not come anywhere near reaching genetic potential in their plants. Stress anywhere during the plant's life cuts yield % down little by little, so it's not a matter of finding the "best" training techniques to increase yields, it's about mitigating stress during the entire life cycle of the plant to PREVENT from losing genetic potential.

I don't top or FIM or supercrop anymore - I simply tie the top shoot of the plant down and let the side branches grow upwards to increase light penetration. You'll get good at filling in your canopy and fitting plants into your space like a bunch of puzzle pieces; resulting in one giant square or rectangular canopy. Focus on eliminating stress, positioning plants for optimal light penetration and leave the scissors for trimming. Plants hate being topped/super cropped/FIM'd, I've learned that from experience.
