Long time lurker, first post. I stumbled upon this link about hemp seed nutrition.

Very interesting, what a superfood.
'Despite the fact that some studies highlighted high variability in the hempseed composition according to the genotypes and environmental factors [3,32,34,39,43,44,45,46], it typically contains 25–35% lipids with a unique and perfectly balanced fatty acids (FAs) composition; 20–25% proteins easy to digest and rich in essential amino acids; 20–30% carbohydrates, a great part of which are constituted in dietary fibre, mainly insoluble; as well as vitamins, and minerals'
'In addition to its nutritional value, hempseed is also rich in natural antioxidants and other bioactive components such as bioactive peptides, phenolic compounds, tocopherols, carotenoids, and phytosterols, the content of which appears to be mostly affected by the environmental and agronomic factors and, to a lesser extent, by genetic variability [3]. Moreover, hempseed contains also some antinutritional compounds that could negatively influence its nutritional value.'
It goes on to talk about the anti inflammatory, anti fungal, anti hypertensive properties. Help against cancers, diabetes, and it just goes on and on. Even when you get to the scary anti-nutritional stuff, its not scary at all, those compounds or elements or whatever they are, they have amazing benefits. And it talks about the soybeans having the highest levels of TI's which is one of those anti-nutritional things, well soybeans are an amazing food that we grow so we obviously arent afraid of those TI's.
When are we going to start farming this amazing superfood?
Is anyone working on food strains or selling food strains? China, Russia, Chile, Ukraine, Iran, and Turkey are basically doing the heavy lifting here in terms of growing hemp seed. Hopefully the west can ramp up production.
