i know cannabis is a herb but my bro seems to think that its acts like a weed for sintance it would remain dominant if you put it next to another plant and use all the food around the area, is this true.
i thought herbs need alot of food and cant fight that well for it!
any info from anyone would be appreciated thanx

A weed is a feral plant considered to be a nuisance by the observer,do you still think cannabis is a weed lol?Actually there is no good definition of a weed, one mans weed can be another mans houseplant.Weeds do tend to aggressisvely grow sometimes denying other plants nutrition, but I wouldnt put cannabis in that "classification" of weed.

Cannabis IS a weed guys, a very beautiful one, mind you, but still just a weed. That's why it grows so hearty and will take alot of abuse....Also, why do u think we call it "WEED"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Peace.

I have no landrace feral nuisance plants in my growroom,I have a few well appreciated hybids though therefore I havent a weed in this house. You need to check out the definition of what a weed actually is before saying cannabis is one.It actually may be a weed to you.Do you grow wild landrace strains indoor and hate them?If so you have weeds in the house.Do you grow feral plants indoors and appreciate them?If so you have no weeds in the house. The definition is clear but subjective,if you get my drift.

weed/wi:d/ n. & vb.
n.1 a wild plant growing where it is not wanted.
n.2 colloq.a thin looking or contemptibly feeble person.
b. slangan inferior horse
3. (precurs by the). slang marijuana; tobacco.

There you go, that's what a weed is.
Because cannabis quickly establishes itself and creates a thick canopy, it effectively chokes out any other plants starting at the same time. (some would call this a weed)
I would call this a successful. strategy!
I won't go into the verbs.
Cannabis has also been called tea, but it's not a tea plant!

I prefer wikipidia's definition because it gets into the appreciation aspect, one persons weed may be another persons landscaping plants,it's partly in the eye of the beholder as opposed to just a feral plant.

any plant that grows where it's not wanted is a weed.
I'm sure if you trained and flowered convulvulous (bindweed) on purpose, it wouldn't count as a weed.

I once saw a news story where the reporter was standing by a busy bridge in washington and marijuana was growing rampant on the side of the river.. I think it was hemp though cultivated in the 17-1800's and unsmokable..

It's a challenge that sometimes get's pretty hard. :D

I agree with the grown vs bought statement.

Ever since I grew my first plant, I have never purchased weed since. Even if I was completely out between grows (And I havent smoked since June/July) - Same thing with mushrooms.
