looks like a few of these projects goin on, with more to follow i'm sure. i don't like em.
peeps figuring out ways to make money on other folks data. facebook ring a bell?
corps, & gubmits are gonna exploit this data at my expense, guaranteed! i don't give up my data so easily, sorry.
but for those of you who wanna participate, there a plenty of folks willing to accept your free sample so they can later exploit you!
hypothetical here: your cali med weed, that you grew and sold to dispensary, was implicated in the death of a teenager driving under the influence. uh-oh!

The project is still in the research phase, according to Coyle, so they aren't yet handling evidence to be used in criminal cases. "We're getting in position to use it in court," she said.

"It's very effective in getting numbers of people to plead guilty," claimed Tommy LaNier, director of the anti-cannabis, White House-funded, National Marijuana & Public Lands Initiative, based in San Diego. "You've got hard evidence and they can't dispute it." One of Lanier's primary targets is weed grown on public property.

Coyle said a state could order licensed medical marijuana growers to use a specific type of marijuana plant (a chilling thought), and only that particular strain of pot could be sold in state-licensed dispensaries.

i do also believe it to be inevitable that this happens. but i sure as shit aint giving my assistance to these projects. what they ever done for me, eh?

I do not buy into it all , DNA will never be fully understood no matter what . We consider ourselves to be so advanced when in reality we are if anything but opposite of advanced , not that I like the word

Truth be told , most of what we have been taught about this world since our birth is bullshit of the western mindset and no human can become godly in knowledge. Science is attempting to do such but anyone not programmed by western mind control is able to see through this narrow channel :)

Are you even for real?
Your fears of other people making money from other peoples data is absurd, with my DNA project I am collecting old dead seeds of landraces, drug, hemp, or wild. If you had any I am curious what value are they to you? If you have any they have no data, they are dead, they can be sequenced and data generated, but for you to think the data from imported landrace seed is yours is absurd, what about the seller you bought the imported weed with the seeds in it? What about the wholesaler? Or the smuggler? Or the grower in a third world country? I guess in your mind they do not count as the dead seeds are in your hand? I politely disagree, the data should be shared with the Cannabis community. Don't worry we want no seeds of any of your varieties unless they are pure landrace, which I doubt as few are grown. Anything is possible....
As for what ever have they done for you? I think you are here to learn new info? At least most are. This is a community that shares great discoveries about growing Cannabis, and the DNA project will do the same.
Maybe you need to take off your tin-foil cap and drop your hypothetical fears? Don't worry I do not want your "data" unless you grow landrace seeds, and then in that case it is not your data, regardless of what you think, it belongs to the world. And similar data can be obtained from many other sources....

what about all those you mentioned, will you be recognizing all them? you will own the data. we have only your word that you will freely share it? how will the data be used?

i have no seeds in my possession that cannot be obtained on the illegal US "open market."

because we disagree, i see no need for disparaging remarks. you deleted my posts in your thread. i created this one so that i may speak more freely. you then come to this thread and call me a tin-foil hat wearing paranoid. maybe you need to take off your condescending hat, and not define for me, who or what the "cannabis community" is, nor tell me what is good for the "cannabis community." i shall make those decisions for myself. apparently you are respected by the "cannabis community," ok. i have never read any of your work. maybe you can recommend something. this dna database thing just smells of control and money to me. perhaps i'm wrong.
i know this though, if i were to create a thread requesting seeds from members, whatever my motive be, i would be immediately banned. enjoy your position of authority and control and use it wisely.

The data generated is open and available to the public and seed contributors.
I want old dead seeds. Landraces.
I am glad you seem more relaxed.
My goal is to add to the knowledge about Cannabis.
I won't post in your thread if you don't want me to.
