Hi High People!
I've been making edibles for a while, and my background is culinary, i've been a cook/chef for 7 year on high end restaurants, and have played a lot with infusions and molecular gastronomy.
I have made a whole bunch of diferent forms of edibles and "drinkables" and of course that i have noticed a big diference on the feed back that i got from people.
So, when we are talking about ingesting cannabinoid via food or liquids that is a wide range of diferent factors that will combinate to the final high, correct?
Another problem is that is so specific from person to person that it became hard to have a solid dose,
so from my experience thats how i try to put in order the factors that will combine to the final experience. (assuming that you have fire material to start with and fully decarbed)
1) Body mass / Body fat / Fast or slow Metabolism
The thing that i have found that is the most important is a correlation between the body-mass and how fast your metabolism is.
a small skinny person will feel the effects more with the same dose that someone big. With that said i noticed that athletes that have a big body mass like fighters, but with a very low fatty mass and a really fast metabolism will get blasted with little doses.
2) Tolerance
really close to the importance of body mass is tolerance,
we all know that cannabis is not for everybody and is a learning experience, so i like just to mention that, because there are some people claim that they don't get really high, but is mainly because they have little experience with cannabis, they are benefiting from it but don't even know. (they just realize they're high when they over dose it)
3) Drug delivery system
we use a wide variety of drug delivery systems, and they all perform different, sugar, fat, oil, carbonated water and so on.
If you are using butter will definitely perform different than MCT oil.
4) empty-belly or full belly?
If you havent eaten the whole day the absortion will be faster than if you just had a huge meal
5) extraction method
If you are doing a THC distillate it will give you a different range of cannabinoids to work with as if you where doing a 6 hours trim-butter extraction
Well, that about it. ALL OF THIS IS JUST MY EXPERIENCE.
What have you noticed on cannabinoids absortion? have anybody have tried infuse terpenes back to they'r edibles? THC distillate sub lingual?
if there are people interested in talking about this let get it rolling! more data the best!
keep growing, keep processing and keep cooking!
all the best,
gold
