been reading all the lolipop techs out there and I got a couple questions before I make my first attempt... hopfully this will help me to screw up less

I have made plenty BHO and a fair amount of ISO and QWISO. My BHO is awesome, but I mostly like to use it with my ti-curv (now people round hear are calling these things "The Skillit" or "The Bell" LOL). I use my vape leftovers to make cannabutter USUALLY... but was thinking of making oil this time cause everyone on here seems to like oil butter so much more. Previously my main problem when SMOKIN with my iso stuff is the aftertaste. My BHO was always awesome but even my qwiso was always kinda, unclean tasting or something and kinda black. I even have done the 15 second qwiso and done multiple filters and a variety of purges etc. I do get more and more purity... but never the final product i wanted (that could rival my bho)

but i always yeild heavy with qwiso also... and even more heavy with iso of course

and people on here seem to like BHO/QWISO/ISO butter

so I was gonna make these with ISO

but will the iso taste be noticable in these? would I be better off making some other kinda oil (everclear/ethanol etc.) other than iso. I never made any of the other ones people like for edibles but I was thinking for taste it might be better to use another oil other than iso, what do you think?

OR

should I just use iso and not worry? and if so, then I was thinking the best way to do that would be to make some iso butter and then use the butter like the instructions call for... or should i do it differently like some people who are just throwing it in at the end or whatever

ideas? suggestions?

it would be really easy to use BHO, but i mostly make it for smokin so I am not sure...
I have never made it from vapor leftovers... would the BHO be worth makin?

I was thinking yeild wise... not quality wise... should I go with quality over yeild for the oil I use? (less weight of better quality oil rather than more quantity of lesser quality oil)

the goal here is to make the absolute best use of the leftover vapor duff while makin a fairly strong not super bad tastin loli or hard candy

so... do u still think I should make vapor duff BHO? or another oil... for more yeild
or should I go back to just makin cannabutter instead? or I was thinking maybe BHO and then make cannabutter outa the leftover BHO'd vaporduff... or is that overkill

thanks for any help, I have messed up other batches of other things when trying them as I often get these crazy ideas on how to improve it... or maybe just get the most outta the little I have... so any experience you all can share would greatly help me make less of a mess of this

Step 1: make BHO
Step 2: Disolve into said butter
Step 3: use new bho+butter in said candy recipe

If your BHO is the best and tastiest then use that.
I've made clear yellow QWISO before, just takes some practice. Tasted like the sweetest lemons I could ever imagine.

WOW! i guess I gotta practice mine is always dark/black so far... got a kinda green tint to some kinda clear patches on my dish... but nothing like that. AWESOME WORK!

Tip for making clearer, cleaner, qwiso.

Freeze all materials IE; alcohol, green material, glass jar you plan on swishing in. I freeze my material fresh, chop it with scissors every now and then careful not to let it thaw out. Then I transfer to a frosty mason jar and freeze for another 15 or so minutes just to make sure its thoroughly frozen. I also have the iso in another mason jar so it's faster to transfer into the one containing the green matter. Get the stainless steel coffee filter placed on top of a mason jar so its ready for the transfer of the frozen iso into the frozen trim. Combine the frosty trim and iso shake for 1-3 seconds, then strain off the green matter with the stainless filter. Remove the green matter when the majority of the iso has strained for a cleaner, clearer hash oil. Filter the rough solution with the coffee filter to remove particulate matter.
Get the iso and green matter in contact and separated as fast as possible, longer contact equals lesser quality.

Materials:
3 quart wide mouth mason jars
1 sack o trim
1 liter of 91%+ iso
1 stainless steel coffee filter
1 unbleached paper coffee filter
1 freezer

This should help.

^^You've got it, the key to better iso hash is a quicker washing. The quicker the wash, the more amber/clear your oil will be. Doesn't mean your getting less THC, it's just less product but more potent...

hey... just another thought... has anyone ever made iso or qwiso and then tossed a few balls of it in with some popcorn/trim and made BHO?

is it worth while or more just crazy ideas people think of
would i blow myself up? hahah... seriously tho... is it dangerous?

just a thought... i wonder what would even happen

(going to the store in an hour... gonna make the pops today, i'll get back with results)

ok so I tried this and it was a good learning experience

the first and most important thing I learned was to use ALOT less butter or possibly no butter if you guys think I can get away with that

so I got some butter I had already made into cannabutter with some duff (1/2oz to a 1/4lb) and since I knew its was on the super weak side so I added 5grams of some OK ISO (black tho) then I strained the butter again to get any leftover pieces of ISO and there was a good bit leftover in the cloth

the butter was black, but smelled fine

I used 1/4lb of this butter and followed the instructions
i ended up cooking till it was a little more hard than I should have
about 285-290 or so and it ended up being rather hard rather fast

i got about 5 suckers laid out before the stuff was just too hard to spoon out
i tried to re-heat but that just seemed to make the butter seperate from the candy more

I decided just to dry the big lump of candy and then bust it up into chunks
this worked out kinda well as I ended up with a bunch of good sized pebbles and a bunch of powder

I seperated the 2 and made some pixi sticks with the powder and just ate the rocks like it was a bag of hard candy chunks

well it was decently strong but I think I wanna go stronger next time and it had a HEAVY taste of cannabutter

BUT.... other than that they were pretty awesome and REALLY easy to make. I was happy with it even the way they ended up, but with a little practice I could see these being amazing

I would really love to get some help, I know people on here are busy and what not but it would help me out a bunch if you guys offered any good advice etc

my problems right now are taste and strength...pretty common i guess
I wanna use ISO instead of BHO cause I feel like I get way more outta the trim/duff and I also want to maximize the potency. a little bad taste can be OK if they are really really potent. BUT I am also VERY VERY interested in anything I can do to improve taste without sacraficing potency

If you would of used clearer iso your candies would of turned out with a lighter color and taste IMHO.

Skip the keif, unless it's pretty melty, otherwise you run the risk of making a grainy product, which may have a burnt taste when finished.

Break up your iso and disolve it into warmed butter, 160f-180f stiring rapidly. Add iso in small amounts at a time untill it stops disolving.

I would also make brownies. Alot easier.

when i did I ended up with some large chunks of matter leftover

When making iso, i strain twice. once with just a stainless steal coffee strainer, then a paper coffee filter. No, I don't restrain my butter.

The point of adding the iso into the butter slowly is to make sure it all disolves and leaves you with no chunks in your butter.

no problem! cant wait for you to really enjoy your edibles.
