Canadian Heritage Strains

Hi All!

New to the board, as well as new to growing. I have been reminiscing recently on the strains of my youth (M39,Freeze,Blueberry,LSD), and was wondering if anyone had any input into some heritage strains of yesteryear that stood out to them, and if they were aware of where to purchase beans for them. I am really interested in trying my hand at growing some of these strains, and experiencing Canadian cannabis history. Bonus points if anyone has any info on the BC Purple Kush that was going around like 2009-2012. I was getting it on the east coast from a friend, and it had the most delightful heavy taste, and was super potent. It wasn't overly purple, but had like a very unique flavour profile.

Probably was related to godbud.

the First purple potent weed on the coast here I recall was called A-frame. Circa 1987ish. Later it was called purple skunk. Godbud was most likely related to A frame.

I can't believe its still all white here. Sheesh!

Might have been, a buddy brought a bunch back for bargain basement prices from out west, and it was ultra memorable, medium sized buds with some purple but not like an excessive amount of purple, but it had such a thick and heavy smoke and a very lingering aftertaste. Would love to know more about A-Frame.

whats up my fellow canucks. longtime lurker, possible first time poster, I cant even remember. Anyways, I can chime in with a few of the old strains I remember from yesteryear. As for their availability, or their pedigree.....thats another story. BC Big Bud, Purple Skunk aka M39, BC Skunk, Pink Kush.....i dont know if God bud counts......damn, the list is small. Oh, Island Sweet Skunk, or Sweet Island skunk? my fave is Pink kush for sure, reeferman making Canada proud! I would love know more about Pink Kush, again, cuz Ive read some reeferman posts somewhere in the past but it escapes me now

was Purple Skunk what people called M39. I remember smoking some really bad M for years when I first moved from Toronto to Halifax, and was amazed that it was all I was able to find. That and sometimes what people would call lemon, which was like M39 looking bud with a slight lemon nose.
