Can you wire a fan to run when an A/C unit is on?

Can you wire a fan to run when a window A/C unit is on? Would you need to wire a solenoid switch to a wire within the A/C?

it could be done. but could be hard involving hard wiring a lead off the ac to a switch that would control fan.

Plug them both into a receptacle strip and control that.

i plug both into a green air ct-dh-1 on the cooling side

I wanted to avoid a controller because it makes the A/C less efficient. I decided to let the fan going to the A/C stay on 24/7.
