hi lads just wondering can you use the same soil twice for a grow. light mix with perlite was my first grow.my mate said after the first grow just cut the stem of the plant out mix up your old soil then replant. is this true. many thanks for any replys terrier. i was thinking after using flowering nutes in the compost this might not be possible.to start new plants off.

You should check out the recycled organic living soil thread.
If you are just running light mix and perlite you should be ok if you wash it, I'd think. That seems like a soilless mix, in which case you're probably fertigating all your nutes in anyways. With ammended soil, it's not a bad idea to send a sample out to get tested, then reammend inbetween uses based on the test results.

Don't tell mother nature you can't plant in soil that has been used previously......That could be a disaster.

in fairness, mother nature is constantly rebuilding her soil.
More like top dressing.....with a little worm action.
and a bit of freeze/thaw to break up compaction and deposite more minerals... and a crazy awesome fungal networks transporting nutrients and sugars over long distances to where they're needed... 
Hahahaa come on over to the organic soil forum and have a look around... twice is an understatement...
