CAN YOU USE BLUE (COLD) FLOURESCENTS TO FLOWER?

Hello Just wondering if you can use the BLUE (COLD) Flourescent bulbs to flower with, because I know they say cold is for veg, and warm is for flower. But would it still flower if you only had cold??

Thanks :joint:

It would flower about the same as a warm white flo would flower it,not very well.

lol ive seen flo grows that look pretty good...

And my flourescent is New Wave's T5 High Output, they put out like 25%-50% more light than regular flo's

Flo's 60-65 lumens per watt

T5 Flo's 80-85 lumens per watt

HPS 110-115 lumens per watt

See, T5's are almost as good as HPS, and much better than FLO
But then of course you have the light penetration level is very low with flo's, but as long as you do SCROG, or SOG it's okay :)

From experience the yield will be lower than from warm tubes but the quality will be exceptional.

If you have t8 tubes you can get them right into the scrog without scorching and if you remote the ballasts its even better.
Some of the best weed i ever smoked was grown like this under 232 watts of cold whites but obviously a low yield.
Mind you at todays prices even a few ounces has got to be worth it and the saveings would fund some serious lights.
