Can you top dress with powdered lime?

I have plants that are two week into flowering and their in sunshine mix 4 mixed with some Ewc , but I didn't add any lime to the mix. Can I water it in or top dress with it.

Yeah, topdress or dig them into the rootzone, I had the same problem and what i did was bore out a few holes down into the root system with 1/2 tablespoon of fine powder per hole. the finer the powder the better, the chunkier pellets take longer to dissolve.

Skip it. Lime is unnecessary unless you have a serious Mg deficiency.

If the plants need calcium add some oyster shell powder or EWC to your waterings. 15mL/gallon should do the trick, bump up as needed.

If you are concerned about a lack of Mg, EWC to the rescue again. If you notice a severe Mg deficiency epsom salt is very effective, a little goes a long way. 5-15mL/gallon is a good range to turn things around.

Dolomite lime is definitely not fast release. Takes quite a bit of time for dolomite to break down. Once it does, mg is overabundant.
Rasputin is right. Go with oystershell instead. as well as an ewc topdress or tea. And again if needed.

are you worried about ph buffering capabilities, or cal/mg supply?

I'm worried about the ph buffering, I was gonna use the lime
Because I had it on hand. But I'm going to order some oyster shell flour tonight . I found 50 lbs for 18.50$

I only put lime into my holes.. and let it set for a few months.. always nice results guerrilla style so I cant see the problem trying to grow hibrix indoors

But to answer your question. Yes you can topdress then water in the dolomite. But its much easier to mix with water then apply. If you choose to do so. But if youre getting some oystershell just take the amount you plan to use, mix with water to get it in there easier. Then scratch it into the surface if possible.

Lime raises ph does not buffer it. I read here that it buffered the ph and caused all kinds of grief. If your water is high ph, lemon juice will lower it and not hurt the microbes.
