Can you hermie a male?

I wasn't sure where to post this, so I figured the noobie section...

I've only heard about stressing a female to turn it into a hermie, but someone asked about a male plant, so I figured I was curious and would ask here.

Anyone ever heard about stressing a male plant such that it turns into a hermie that you could use? Would you get much bud either female to hermie or(if it exists) male to hermie?

Thanks,

Green Supreme, Do you have any info on "How To" intersex the male cannabis plant?

I have started a thread in the botany forum on this same subject

So far seems as if male plant, if it does/will herm, will produce both male & female seed.
Which is a big plus, as the only plant saved from recent harsh weather was one big male.
I don't want to use him for a cross, and would rather preserve this local strain...
even if it means the strain has to be salvaged from 1 single male.

I ended up taking some cuttings off from a lone surviving male after all the females fell victim to a bad storm.
2 of those males were treated with different solutions. 2 were not.

What I found out after growing the males all the way out past their prime is that all 4 males produced seed. In fact.. The untreated males produced more seed than the treated males.

Admittedly.. this is the first time that i ever let males live a long full life...
So some strains , maybe all strains could have a built in survival mechanism to prevent it from going extinct? (My theory anyhow)

The 2 treated plants tried to produce bud rather than seed, but didn't really produce a measurable amount of either. Only a few bud nodes and a single seed at each top node.

The 2 untreated males produced seed all the way up the top center cola with pollen sacks all around the seed pods.

Strange.. This was true males, yet they produced seed.

Any chance they could have somehow sensed there were no females around?
