lol u want to map a plant genome.... boy o boy you dont kno what your getting into considering it is quite a bit longer than the human genome (yes canabis has more genes that we do). so lets see all you will need is a research team of atleast 20 about 10 to 15 years and a few billion dollars, you kno for the labratory and all the massive machines used in mass dna extraction and analysis.

dont feel bad though cause i would love to do it to if it took 2 weeks and i could do it in the bathroom.

just comparing the mother and farthers to the seeds to see what the seed has in it

then crossing strains can be exact

What you're talking about takes a lot of testing so people can figure out which genes have which functions in cannabis- meaning youd need to grow out lots of plants in a controlled environment and take data for many years, then you could figure out what genes do what.. but hey for the price and equipment why not create some GM seeds that are modified to be exact replicas of the mother or elite strains

enlishrip let me suggest something that would be right up your alley. micropropogation. you can clone from a single cell, keep genetics stored for years, take and send dna samples with ease but its really hard to master. once u get that down you can do fusions with the plant cells. actually combine the cells of two different cannabis plants to create a new strain without sexual propogation. wiki the subject i think you will find it interesting and the next natural evolution of cannabis proppgation storage and transfer.

i had another idea.......it sounds similar.......i wanted to design a small pice of kit to send cell samples of elite clones.....i was thinkin the kit would be set to fully grow an elite cut to a transplant size....... from a small sample in a contained enviroment

something here is possible.........its the future but knowone wants to take the G.M. Canna project on.....it makes sence that we can advance if we had the vision and the way

u take two plants... both female if you like isolate and fuse thier cells into one larger cell sharing both plants genetic material. all done in a petri dish. say youve got a female land race columbian and want to cross it with some awesome bag seed youve made a mother of. dont need a male. not much of this kinda work has been done with cannabis but it has been done successfully. takes alot of no how on ur part though doable though very doable.

can you then use the prosedure to make seeds from a cut only strain?........"clone seeds"......amazing...what would the F2 be like?
