I have a perpetual garden. I would love to grow some auto flowering plants but can you successfully clone these type of photoperoid plants?

IME they will root just like any other plant, but the clock started when the seed sprouted and all the cuttings know it

i think the strain i tried was fast manitoba ......... don't have any idea if all autos are the same

By the time the mother plant has enough nodes that you can take clones from, they will only be a week or so away from flowering. By the time the clone has rooted, it will be into flowering time. Instead of one plant with lots of bud, you'll have lots of little plants with a little bud on each, and the mother wouldn't have really recovered to give a decent yield. Not worth it.

auto's are totally pointless, 98% of GOOD strains, when cloned, and flowered right when they root will only reach 12-18 inches, resembling a much bomber version of an auto. i have 48 plants growing in less than 4.5 square feet of space, because i do just that, i use whatever strain i want, and get top end product, i just get about 5-7 grams a plant and plant 10 plants a square foot, they usually finish around 14-16 inches tall...i'm doing it with a sativa right now(c99) right next to an indica(skunk) and they both finish exactly the same hight.

this also works the same way with seeds, any seed grown 12-12 from the start will finish around 18 inches, i even had those results with sam the skunk mans haze mix!

wether clone or seed if you start them under 12-12 they will flower the same size as an autoflower, but your selection is much bigger, and you can buy much much better strains...

the only reason for an autoflower is outdoor growing in the north. for that purpose cloning an autoflower would be really usefull, unfortunately this isn't possible with most of them because they were created for people who don't know enough about growing to realize you can grow any strain that small...lol anyways the only auto that you can clone that i am aware of is a strain that was called iranian short season, under strong light it would veg and could be cloned but if the light weren't strong enough it would start flowering on you, that was a long time ago though back when auto's were a new thing, haven't seen it online lately, though i have seen something called iranian auto, don't know if it's the same or if it's cloneable.
