Can this be done?- 2 600's in a 3x3 hydrohut?

I"m thinking of doing a vertical cool tube setup with 2 600's in it. Are there any threads with anything similar to this? I may have to go down to 400's to control the temps. I have 6" cool tubes with a 747 cfm 8" vortex blowing through the cool tube. I'm also going to use a 4" fan with a carbon scrubber at the top of the hut to suck out hot air. I will have a 12" fan on the floor facing upward to keep the air around the cool tube moving. Anyone think this can be done or am I going to have to go up to a dr150 which measures just under 5' by 5'.

Anyone use a "cage" setup or similar in a hydrohut with vertical lights?

i had someone tell me that a dr 150 is perfect for 2 600w's i think hte 3 x 3 hydrohut might be a little bit small for that light and i think thats over 50/w per square foot so its over kill.

I would use the big vortex to vent the lights and use the smaller to vent the cab into a scrubber. Thats how my set up is. I use the 449 6" vortex to vent a 400 and 600(outside) in a hydrohut mini and a 172cfm to vent the cab. What I did was seal off the lights completely that way I'm not venting my ac outside as well

pete, so you're running ac as well in your hydrohut mini, or are you running ac in the lung room? What room temp do you keep the lung room? Any temp problems in your 1000 watt setup?

Yeah, I'll be running the 8" vortex full blast to the lights, with it sucking in cool air from outside and venting the hot air outside.

Also, keep in mind this is a vertical setup.

The mini is in my bedroom. I ac the bedroom which can fluctuate between 72-78 degrees depending on the heat outside. My cab is about 1 degrees above ambient. I vent the heat outside and the cool air that goes into the cab gets vented back into the room.

Since your going vertical your going to have a tough time keeping temps down. Also i dont think there is any need to go vertical since the space is a square. With a vertical setup all your going to do is lose height and give your self headaches trying to control heat. My personal opinion is get 2 hydrofarm ac hoods( there only 9" wide) and run one 400 cmh or mh and one 600 hps seal the hoods completely(that putty like weather stripping is good for that) you will get great result plus have both spectrum's and you can run cmh on a hps ballast.

Edit: I will be switching to a 1000hps soon. The 400/600 combo has a good spectrum, but nothing beats a 1000 hps for penetration. Say good bye to all those popcorn buds on the lower branches

I guess more than anything I'm just interested in trying something different. I got good results out of my last 600 watt scrog. This go around I'm going to be growing some tall plants and utilzing more net area.
