Hey guys theres a 465cfm blower (squirrel cage fan) i can get and i was wondering if it would be wise to use it as an inline type of fan?
of course with proper fittings and stuff...

this is my diagram if you can see what i am trying to do...

Does anyone have ANY suggestions?

is configuring a blower to work like an inline fan a good idea? its cheaper to get the blowers as opposed to the inline fans.

Blower do exactly that, they blow air. They kinda stink for suction. If you are using this fan to also recirculate ur air then ur better of just getting a centrifugal inline. Centrifugal are great for suction and blowing air.

I disagree, blower fans suck plenty. You just have to setup your own connections... like this,..

That sucks through the light, into the squirrle fan and blown out the exhaust venting. This is a 465 in action! the other side sucks ambient air of the room.

Yeah they do suck, but not nearly as much as centrifugal fans do. Blowers are called blower for a reason because thats what they do best. Suction is not something that they are known for.

It'll work, but not as efficiently or quietly as an inline...not to mention it's gonna suck an assload more electricity compared to an inline. You get what you pay for...

alright, so then do you guys recommend getting one of these centrifugal fanslisted below? itll ONLY be cooling 2 1000w lights. or are they overkill? the room is 8 x 10 x 7 the room is also AC cooled........

10" Fantech Centrifugal Fan FX Series 590 cfm

8" Fantech Centrifugal Fan FX Series 481 cfm

6" Fantech Centrifugal Fan FX Series 256 cfm

If it's only going to be air cooling the lights, a 6" will be fine. If you're gonna use a scrubber inline with the lights, then go with the 8".

there is a stanley blower fan mod that is in the forums somewhere ( use the search tool for STANLEY BLOWER ) I think it is around 45.00 and i have tried to look for one at home depot and lowes but they are sesional items. I have seen them on ebay. I have heard that they can run for over a year stright 24 hours a day 7 days a week and it is equivlent to a 256 cfm dayton blower. Dont know if this helps but i hope it does.
