Can someone recommend a carbon filter?

i've been searching the forums for a review on carbon filters but didn't come up with much. i have an 8x8x8 room with 2 600w (maybe 3 soon). i'm looking for a good carbon filter. can someone point me in the right direction? and what fan works the best with the filter? i made a diy but i don't trust it, i would rather buy one. i saw the ones on hidhut.com, are those any good? what about can filters can 33?

I would say a can 33 would be too small. Better off getting a bigger one than smaller. I have a can 100 powered by an elicent 200B and it does my area great. It's larger than yours (12 feet x 15 feet) but if you went close to this you would be fine forsure. May be one size smaller? Hope this helps a little - good luck!

I'm with TGT. Go bigger. You can put the fan on a speed controller if it's too much. The price difference isn't much when you step up to the larger models. Btw, Can-Fan is the brand for me. My model is the one that comes with the 6" 440CFM fan, it fits inside a garbage can sorta..

What do you mean you made one but you don't trust it?....lol
Test it. Put it in a room with some kind of stink, exhaust it, take a whiff of the exhaust. Test complete! lol

Yes, you can put a Can filter in any position and if you don't hook an exhaust duct up to the fan...yes again,it'll just recirculate the room air.

Casualsmoke, I hung mine on my ceiling with chains and exaust out a vent into the room directly beside the grow. That way the air leaving the room is clean and it also creates negative pressure in the grow room. This negative pressure allows all the leaks in the room to pull in new air so that no dirty air can excape and also replenishes the air in the room. I sealed my room up with b&w plastic so that most the leaks were sealed and then cut a passive vent hole near the ground so that cold air down low could be pulled into the room. If you do this make sure the passive3 intake is not too large as it will ruin your vacuum you are trying to create.

Hope this helps and good luck!
