Yes, there is plenty information on this site about feminizing. There are multiple methods Colidized(sp) silver, Gilberic acid, etc.. The process makes a female plant produce pollen sacks which you would then use that pollen to pollinate another female in your garden.

I have only done the colloidal silver method once and it was just for a seed run on one very small but very pretty little AF who's origins are lost through failure to label. It seems to have worked swimmingly though because so far 8 of 8 that I have germed out have been girls. Not enough to know for a fact that it was a success but seems to be.

Just do a search on colloidal silver and feminized seeds and you will find better explanations than I am apt to type up for you. Its pretty easy to make (and cheap) so dont let any of the descriptions intimidate you.

I'd recommend the silver nitrate/sts method. Works like a charm, and is cheaper and easier than the so-called "colloidal silver" thing, which is really just ionized silver, anyways, if your using silver and electrodes.

You can get the chems on some huge auction site for about the same price as an ounce round of silver, with no hassle.

I wouldn't bother im having serious hermi issues in flower with them, last couple weeks shit starts putting out bananas seeding shit not happy with it at all , there impossible to spot until its to late. Do yourself a favor and just make regular male/female sure you will have to throw out half your plants but at least you don't get ninja hermis fucking up your crop. You won't find the bananas until you trim, there will be a couple here and there but not enough that you will be able to identify them till its to late. The only way to make proper feminized seeds is to only use heavily stress tested mother plants with 0 hermi traits, I don't recommend playing russian roulette with making feminized seeds like I did.

what method did you try?

cs it worked like a charm but the point is it doesn't matter what method you use, what matters is which plants your using to breed with and what the end resulting seed stock is. Even reputable seed companies can have a 1/100 hermi rate with there feminized seeds and there is no guarantee you will be able to spot the hermi in time.

understandable but i also was to understand that you start the soon to be herm way ahead of time to compensate for the time it needs to herm ive never tired to feminize but i really hope i dont run in to that problem or its make to plucking males for me

id rather be plucking males then having the problem I got now, there is good reason why breeders with a conscience don't offer feminized seeds to make money.

ive checked some links on colliodal and nobody is saying exactly how much, say u buy a bottle at a health food store that probally like 2 oz.. how much do u mix in to your spray? how often, does more application equal more bannanas? i know its expensive stuff becasue i used to work at an health store but if it will give you say 200 seeds that are going for 65 dollars for 5 then its worth it i guess.

That depends on the genetics of your plant, or strain.

If all your plants have been uniform, or one of those totally true breeding ones, where all the plants seem identical, then the seeds will be the same.

If you are dealing with something where there are a bunch of tyoes of individuals, "phenos", whatever, then it can be a crap shoot.

I've done the silver thio thing a bunch of times, and I never got a "hermi" once. Of course, I read the original scientific paper, had a scale accurate enough to measure out the required amount of materials, and a calculator to figure proper concentration. Making sure that I had distilled water, to keep that thiosulfate ion happy (pH is important here) was essential, too.

The stuff in the bottle is a very weak concetration, compared to the solution of silver people try to make at home..

Thats because they don't want you to know.

The "colloidal silver" you see in health food stores and sold for people to drink is usually from 10 to 20 parts per million. You can even get 30 parts per million. 100 ppm is common, too. It won't work to do what you want. No. Not. Negatory.

Colloidal silver is actually silver particles, usually complexed on some kind of protein. This stuff usually doesn't look like water when you buy it.

The "colloidal silver" you read about people using to do this is actually (get this) IONIZED silver created through electrolysis. Whatever. Buy some silver metal, put it in distilled water, and run current through it, into the water, and into the cathode... individual atoms of silver are taken off and put into solution. Let it run longer, get more ionized silver...

So, make your ionized silver. Make some every day. Spray the plant you want to effect everyday. For a week. See if it works. Some people say it does. I just wonder why no one has actually published a scientific paper on it working, as opposed to the STS method.

You can get both the chems needed to make the STS solution from some huge, worldwide internet auction site, for under $30 delivered. None of the chems are watched. If you do try it, have the usual lab equipment for making solutions on hand.
