Anyone use this combo? Makes more sense then the Can Fan 12 HO... uses less electricity and pulls more cfm. How loud is the an by comparison? This is for recirc.

i've got a 8" MAX on a Can 100 and its awesome. Noise is barely noticable outside of the room. I imagine with a muffler on the other end of the max it'll be damn near silent.

appreciate the response. my room is sound deadened and noise isn't my greatest concern but still a concern ya know? i heard good things about the can max fans and decided to go with the 10 inch as it moved more air then a 12 inch HO and uses way less energy. jsut want to see if people are happy with the setup or something similar.

thanks again.

Phillthy-

I am running that exact setup, Can Max 10 and the 150. It's the loudest part of my system, but my only other blower fan is a Can Max 14, the ultra quiet model, so use that as a reference. It's definitely better than conventional centrifugal blowers.

Thats a big help. Thanks a ton ;)

I should clarify-

This is being run in a sealed room, so it's recirculating. Fan is not ducted to anything, it simply pulls air through the filter and blows it back into the environment. This definitely makes the fan louder than if it were ducted into something

indeed, but that is the same way i will run it. the room is sound deadened but i will still have to deal with it while i am in there. thanks again.

too much?

too much?

I was read the post about the can am max and decided to once again look into them after some time. I was in the gotta have it mood and decided i was going to order it. I then went on and re-read the posts and noticed you were using a can filter 150.. I have a 66 and only have to blow through one 1k lamp. I was wondering if this was WAY too much, even though i know most say that overkill is the way to go... will that lessen the contact time of the carbon to where it will smell? Or i can go the route of taking down my extra 6" i have running (to suck in air) along with the 6" on scrubber and use the 10" Or i can always go 8.. but 10" seems nice :) any suggestions? any smells at all with the 150?
