Can I use this for anything?

So I found these random little balls that absorb water and grow up to 80 times in size. They are supposed to be like a hydroponic gardening system. the place i got them from had a bunch of diff plants growing in vases of this stuff.

Im just wondering if i can use them for cloning or anything maybe ?

The place i got them from the ppl didnt speak any e nglish and these things were from china.. the instructions make absolutely no sense... but from what i could get frmo it. they will hold the water for up to 2 months or so before you need t o refill them ?

I dont know if them being seethroughish would hurt the roots?
but they had a bunch of plants growing in them ! flowers too

Heres a couple pics of what they look like.

I got three packs for three diff colors thats why they look diff. I got orange yellow and green.
The green still has some water in it cuz i was still filling them. But thats what they look like before and after. Anyone know if i would be able to use them for anything ? Like if i can clone in them that would be cool. would be easy to transplant.

I wouldn't use them. Those things sound like a recipe for failure but you could be "fringer" and give a try....:joint:

Good question, but I think you'll just have to try it out with some bagseed and see how it goes. We can pontificate all day on how or why it'll fail, but hey, try it and make a journal about the results, if any.

Some people have used water polymers for indoor use but they are better suited/ more beneficial for outdoor plants.

yea i was tihnking of only using them for cloning. not for growing throughout. As i dont know how i woudl feed them nutrients or anything. I thought it woudl be good for cloning cuz you can just pull the whole plant out fromt eh top as the polymer balls aer really soft and i dont tihnk it woudl dmg the rooots.

I've never seen anything like that, hard to know if it's crazy cool, or just crazy.

Plop some extra clones in there and see what happens!
