Can I use PBP hydro formula in soil?

I'm down to the last 2-3 weeks of flower and ran out of PBP..

I have some PBP hydro blend left over from my last grow though.. Is there any reason I can't use this to finish this grow? I do add hydroplex also, so they should still be getting plenty of PK, right?

Just want to make sure before I feed'm this stuff... :)

Thanks!

PS - The soil is Foxfarm Ocean Forest (if it matters). :p

Hey Gryph:

Reading the labels should tell you the differences between the two, but Ive never heard of PBP "hydro blend". Do you have a pic of the bottle? Just compare the "derived from" lines to note the differences. Odds are the hyro blend is not organic, and will contain highly soluble chemical salts.

Alternatively, If you are into the final 2 weeks of flower you dont really need to feed anyway. Just hit them with pH adjusted water and you should do fine. Feeding right up to harvest can negatively impact your smoke. Not feeding can encourage the plants to use reserves remaining in the soil and in its own tissue. Hope that helps.

I had a friend that had just started growing. He bought PBP hydro flower by mistake. He had BIG BUDS! But like 3BM said, plain water the last two weeks is fine. I'd recommend worm casting tea and molasses until harvest.

Right on, thanks for the replies...

I only plan on feeding for another week, then they'll be on water... Guess I'll just use it...

There definately is a difference between the soil and hydro versions of PBP.. Higher PK in the soil mix... Unfortunatly my cameras batteries are toast... Could probably just look at Botanicares website to get more info if your interested.

Anyways... It's bedtime.. Later!

Happy 4/20! :)

I've used the PBPro and I assume it's the sameproduct your reefering :D to.
The PB is the organic one, the PBPro line is the hydro organic one.
It's great, in short.
Plan on flushing in the end.

There is definatly 2 PBP formulas (reg PBP and PBP Soil) I believe they suggest using the Soil formula when aproaching harvest in hydro systems.

I believe the reason its not considered completely organic is due to the use of potassium, magnesium carbonate.....

however I believe some folks consider these organic sources.....

If thats not it.... I would like to know what it is....

Ive seen several people say itn not organ without knowing what isnt organic....

Im pretty good at the derived part of the label....

if it isnt the use of the carbonates I dont know what it is.....

they also use calcium carbonate..... which is whats in eggshells....

is it cause they purify them???

The soil flower formula has a nitrogen number of 1.5 . The PBP hydryo flower formula has a nitrogen number of 2.5. I would not use the hydro version in late flower as there is too much nitrogen for late soil flower. I even use the soil version in late flower for hydro because of the lower N number.

After looking at the link it appears that calcium carbonate and potassium carbonate are unrestricted

for magnesium carbonate however it says this....

Magnesium carbonate - for use only in agricultural products labeled "made with organic (specified ingredients or food group(s))," prohibited in agricultural products labeled "organic."

It isn't that the sources aren't Organic, it is because O.M.R.I doesn't recognize certain mined, naturally occuring elements as being organic..
