Can I use glue gun glue as sealant for DIY hydro?

glue gun glue would sux for a sealant. What silicones are available in your big stores? Anyone one of them should be suitable. I think the only special thing about aquarium silicone is that it does not contain anti-fugal chemicals. I don't think normal silicone would pose a problem for your hydro.

you want aquarium silicon. Regular silicons will release nasty chems into your water. At the very least, I would run aquarium silicon over the regular silicon. Personally I just use aquarium silicon. I used to have piranhas. :)

and what are you talking about you can't find it at any of the big stores? they all have it! Go to the pet section in Wal-mart, Meijer... Or their home repair section, near the paint and tape, you'll find silicon. Lowes and Home Depot have it too. Maybe you should talk to a sales associate, that's why they're there.

No just 500 adhesives to choose from and a sales associate with an IQ of room temperature. :(

I only ask because I have two dozen sticks lying around. Now that I know I will go forth the extra effort for a $5 stick of silicone for aquariums.
