can i sex in 1gallon pots?

the title says it all i was just wondering theyrein about alil less then a gallon and im going to top them to about half size do u think i would be able to sex in 1 gallon grow bags whn theyve been topped to about half size

YES! I use 1gal pots all the time to sex. Then I go to a to 5 gal bucket to flower. Gotta save soil somewhere. lol

I'm trying myself right now Budfather. I have my Tangerines in 1G pots right now till I know their sex. They were vegged for about 3-4 weeks being LST'd at week 2. They go straight in the 10G once they show. I'll let you know how it works out for me in a few days.

5-6 wk old plants unless thier 100% sativa they should be shown sex right now, most plants show preflowers 3-6 wks of age to inspect the preflower i use a 10 power jewelers glass. a male will be a ball on a stick at first looks like a basket ball then the stick appears after it matures mor. a female will have a pear shape that will show 2 small white hairs protruding from the center of the pear shape. both sex's are un mistakeable you'll know the girl when ya see her lol. but be 100% sure a suspected male is 1 some times girls show l8t
but if ya see a group of ball looking things male for sure.

the trouble with sexing seedlings is they may take a long time to go back to veg mode,some strains take forever to bounce back ... it's best to wait for several preflowers to appear to sex them so they do not have arrested development or are delayed.....if height is a concern, top and clone the tops to promote wider, lower growth and the earlier you start training them sideways the better....most cannabis strain's seedlings need to be a minimum of 4 ~ 6 weeks of 18 ~ 24 hours light before they are big enough for flowering or it ain't just worth it . A plant vegged for 3 or 4 weeks may yield half an ounce, while an extra week or two of veg often means triple or more the harvest yield.

i sex em in veg then no need to force 12/12 then switch back to veg. ppl plants will show preflowers at 3-6 wks of age this is what more experinced growers do for early sexn. preflowers will show around the 4th or 5th node on most strains

Worked out to my advantage so far Budfather. On day 10 of 12/12, one showed she was a lady. Although the second didn't show I transplanted both. At only 5 or so weeks old her roots were good and tight, but not nearly locked. I'm sure the second will show today. The rootballs were good, healthy, and white. Should see sex of the second one today...then they will be cut for clones and continued flowering.
I'm sure different strains could act differently, but so far I have had no problems arise with sexing in 1G pots.
Only way to know something 100% is to try it yourself though.
