***Can I run all this on 150Amp service???

Hey guys - I need your electrical advice please!

I have a good setup in my current house that has 200Amp service/main breaker panel but unfortunately I must move. I have had zero problems running everything listed below in my current house (and all electric appliances) I live alone and never really run anything else out of the ordinary (just normal appliances and a few computers and occasionally a 60 inch plasma tv :) )

Since I must move I am looking at rental houses and I have found one that is ideal but it only has a 150Amp main breaker panel (home is from 1981). I don't really want to invest money into upgrading the electrical service of someone else's house so I'm trying to determine if I can run what I have on 150Amp service.

My current electrical setup is like this:

30A 240V dc (dedicated circuit) for 31k BTU mini-split
30A 240V dc for (4) 1kW HPS flowering lights
15A 110V dc for flower room fans, air & misc
15A 110V dc for flower room pumps (not using anywhere close to 15A but dc)
20A 110V dc veg room lights (but only running 800Watts)
20A 110V dc veg room fans & pumps (not using anywhere close to 20A)

When I add all this up I get 130Amps. Only problem is I need to actually LIVE in the house lol...

I can probably consolidate the two 20A circuits into one but that will still total 110Amps.

The house is 2000 sqft and has one large electric ducted split AC system (I didn't note the size). And I think it has all electric appliances...

What do you guys think? Does it sound like I've done the math correctly? Does this make sense? My only knowledge of electricity was learned by doing this hobby!

Any thoughts, ideas or suggestions? Does this mean I MUST move in a house with 200Amp service? Is that conclusion certain?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You can't really tell much by the size of the circuits feeding things. For instance, your (4) 1k lights, with ballast losses, are pulling around 18.5 amps. Your mini-split probably pulls around 16 amps. So, while they are each on 30a breaker, the total draw between them is around 35 amps of 240v, not 60a. My house has a 200a service, but if you totaled up all of the breakers in the main panel and three subs, you would probably get 500+ amps.

Without listing all of your equipment, a rough guess would put your demand well under 60 amps total, and probably closer to 45-50. I think that you will be fine unless the house is already heavily loaded up.

Also, I'm reasonably sure that all of your equipment is ac, not dc. DC is almost unheard of in residential applications.

Thanks for your help rives. That is valuable input. I might try to look at each piece of equipment and add them up. It's all the normal stuff for a full setup in a sealed room... CanFans, Dehuey, etc...

I know the equipment is not Direct Current. I was simply abbreviating the words "dedicated circuit" but in hindsight that was a poor choice of words to abbreviate considering the topic lol...

Does anyone else have input?
