Can I put tape on a split stem

I was reaching over the table to grab the co2 meter and accidently leaned on this on splitting it down the stem. I put scotch tape on it and it looks fine. But will the stem form new cells and seal up the wound or is it a waste and I just just remove that branch. Trying to flower in two weeks.

doubt that will heal back together, you will need to keep it taped or wrap with a plastic plant ribbon.....imo

Take a piece of twine or string and tie it snug. It wont feel a thing. Not something you want but honestly your plant probably will barely notice.

How's that look? Am I better of removing it? I'm also aware my plant had a cal mag deficientcy or (purple stems, one in hydro had it worse) fed it some extra today
Thanks

I like using the blue painters tape. I like using two pieces and pressing them together to form a flat splint like pieces of tape. When the stem grows which it will, the tape wont choke the stem.

Right. Anything that will hold it for now, tape cant hurt, a bit of string to hold it in place, etc, while it heals.

Waxed muslin would probably be ideal for aesthetic, or sinew, but keeping the branch functioning is the main thing.

The first plant i applied *supercropping to, i thought it was going to die, i bent it UP. the plant was fine in a few days.

Thats a pretty good wound there tho, bad spot. Whether it heals up totally or not time will tell but in my experience the plant will figure it out.

If unattached cells are touching they will reconnect with scartissue.. same thing that happens when you get stitches or something.

Thats actually a really good idea. No friction, it doesnt stick to the plant, and it cant grow in.

I can see something like that falling off by itself, when the branch doesnt need it anymore.

I've used straws slit lengthwise. Open it up and wrap around the broken limb like a cast.
But mostly these days whatever tape is needed. Stronger tape for stronger limbs.
