A C22/C24 would be a better choice for a 400w, imho. A C13/C25 just doesnt have the space to unleash the full potential of a 400w. But there are plenty of growers happy with a C13/C25 and a 400w. The choice is really up to you.

well the only thing is, it is going into a bedroom, i tihnk the c24 is just so obvious that something is up, lol. but thanks again i will try a 400 hps in a c25

Air cooled? In a cab like this you want to vent out the top of hood if at all. Out the top because it will fit better and put light right in center. I grow with a 400w hps in a c13 with a simple gull wing reflector no vented hood. I grow in a basement with low ambient temps though. A cab like this is sort of a big cool tube when you think about it. When you are replacing air in cab 5-8 times a minute where is heat going to build up?

It will work fine but I agree with pontiac c24 is better for a 400w.

I think air cooled hood is great choice it allows the light to get much closer, and in a cab so small you have no need to have it high to disperse light. The space might be a little tight though so make sure you check dimensions before you buy.

Weed4Life, the ValuBrite hood doesn't fit in the C25. It's probably best to do a cooltube in the C25.

really, well can someone point to me to a 400 hps light system that will fit in the c25 from thegrowstore.com?

What are your ambient temps? Do you need to vent hood? Look at my pics. And that is with a 4" vortex fan. Also, you plan on spending more than I did. MD Hydro may have better prices. You can build your own carbon filter. Look at a cache of Overgrow- Sun is shining DIY carbon filter. I could afford to spend that kind of money but didn't have to.

Yes but the problem arises when you try to attach ducting. It might push the light to one side of the cab or not fit at all. Most likely it will fit though. The cab is about 30" wide so you should be golden.

it will fit, but it will be cramped, and i doubt you would be able to center the hood in the c25, it would be pushed to one side because of the ducting.

With that, be creative and go for gold!

I've got a 400W HPS/MH in a C25, air cooled in a Daystar AC reflector along with a 36"x4" scrubber attached to a 6" Vortex 449cfm fan....fits like a glove with enough room to perpetually harvest 3 clones a week (I fit 9 clones total)!!!
