Can I plant my seed like this?

This may be a retarded question... but I saw a plant outside today growing on the side of a building with a basement...

Instead of the middle of the pot can I plant a seed on the far side (not right up on the edge) about 2-3 inches from the side, and have to roots grow out in a certain direction?

I thought I could plant it and do a LST, one rope tying it this way -----> and another , lower rope, tying it <------- this way. This way the "S" shaped plant would be now be in the middle of the pot... if I were able to plant my seed this way.

It would also be easier to feed/test/observe/move around/flush/light coverage...etc.

Also if I can, just how far to the edge/side of the pot could I go (3 gallon)?

I don't think you'll have any problems. When I transplant I put it to one side of the new bigger pot jus for LST,if they aren't bushy already. It does make it easier.I wouldn't go pumb up against the edge though, give it some room for stability also so it doesn't want to break off when ya start to train it.My 2 cents anyway.Good luck, take care...BC

Planting a seed directly into a 3 gallon container isnt the way to go,you'll have a healthier better plant if you start it in a small 4 inch container and transplant up as the plant grows. If you plant a seed along the side or in the middle of a 3 gal container you're going to waste a lot of soil

yea maybe i should clarify my first post..I transplant 4 times, 3 if u don't include the first one from the peat shot glasses. I was basically asking if when i do all my trnsplants if I kept them real close to the sides for lst'ing if that would be o-k.

it does not matter if its in the center or outer edge of the pot..the volume the pot holds is what matters

^^^^^ true...I plant my clones right on the side when I plan on using LST to make a bush...the roots will fill in no matter...stay safe and no worries...

I am glad you chimed in here hurricane, as I really like your methods of lst'ing. I am new to getting real kinky with my ladies, so I want to make sure and do it right, without embarrissing myself. :smoker:

Fuzzy check out this tutorial on LST from big_buddah saved from OG very helpful easy to undertsand http://www.icmag.com/ic/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&page=61&sort=1&perpage=9&ppuser=10245&=

as HF said take your time bending them over i'll personally take 2-3 days to reach the desired angle i want. i'll secure the bottom of plant to 1 side of container approx 1.5 inch off soil for main stem. then i'll pull top untill i feel resistance then i'll back off just tad and secure. next day i'll repeate same pull down untill resistance is felt then secure. the side branchs can be a never ending training almost uptill chop, i know it was for me i would adjust branchs here n there till all where in the best lighting.
heres a plant i las LST'd started about 10 days rooted clone

notice how close to the soil the main stem is plant yielded me 2.5 oz dry LST combines with FIM is a wonderful way to increase the yield potentional the plant was FIM'd once but i have done multi FIM's to a plant also. although the tutorial say's to cut all leaf/branchmatter that will hit the soil on side of plant being pulled down. when you start early its usally only 1-2 branchs maybe but leaves for sure

nice touch Maj.P.......also make sure when you are bending side branches to hold it close to the main stem while bending as to not tear it off...have had that happen before...take your time and you are set...keep us posted...
