will painting a darkroom vent white ruin its operation?? im thinking about using Midget Louver Darkroom Vents to ventilate a small microgrow box, but wanted to keep the inside of the box white for light reflection... can i safely paint a darkroom vent white?

will it still block light from passing from one chamber to the next? the mother area is ajecent to the flower area, i need a passive vent between the two because im using one inline to pull air out of the box from the flowering section into a can filter

has anyone actually used the midget vent yet? i myself am doing some shopping for my micro grow and this is the only vent im finding that will even be close. fyi this vent says its aluminum so any paint should work ok.

While researching to build my c13 cab on OG a few years ago I did not hear good things about the midgets. If I remember correctly they did not do a good job of blocking the light. Do you have room for the 8"x8"s? I just used aluminum tape of the front and first plate of mine. The Doran's have four plates that are stacked and can be individually removed to allow more air flow.

I don't have any good pics of them, but you can just see the vents in the back of this pic.

No...and I'd get the biggest vent you can afford/fit. The % open area for a dark room louver is actually pretty small. A 12" x 12" louver is only capable of flowing about 420 cfm while if that were an open hole you can easily triple that.

I've never seen one so this may not apply. Paint can lock up moving parts, flaps, rotational sleeves. It can block holes in screens. If none of these exist in the vents then, sorry for wasting your time.
