Can I fit 8 plants in this space?

you might be able to pull it off if you don't grow them out too big, but it's gonna be pretty crowded.
I have a 3x4 space with a 400 in it. I've tried up to 10 plants at a time, and can see how much they compete for light. These days I try to keep it at 6 plants or less in the 3x4 space. I can grow them pretty beefywith 4-6 plants. Anything more, and they get spindly.
for a 2x4 space, personally I'd recommend growing 4 plants, and letting them get some size to them. The other 4.....take em for a hike in the woods

Well, my temp is only about 78 degrees, I have a fan blowing accross the lights and a 8 inch duct fan sucking the air out. I can fit the 8 5 gallon grow bags in there. I have enough light to do it. So what if I made like a scrog screen out of PVC and wire for the net then trained the buds through that? When I look at the space that way it sure seems like it can be done. Theres enough light, enough space for the bags, and enough space for 8 plants worth of buds. I forgot to mention plants are LST'd and are very bushy. I think it can be done, but want to be sure. I want to be sure it means more yeild.

I say go with 4-6 beefy plants. With enough pruning you should get a pretty descent harvest if temps dont get tohigh...
Definitely have more than enough wattage for the area, but the space seems pretty small for 10. I started hoping for 10 in 3x4 space with 400W. That was cut down to 7 plants after a couple weeks. And now after sexing its down to 4. Three of the 4 are topped. 1 has 3 growth nodes, the other 2.
If these aren't sexed specimen, start with 10 and see what happens! Otherwise, if you SCROG or SOG I dont see how 7-8 hearty ones wouldn't be a problem.

Well I have all 8 plants in their final grow bags. The bags fit with ease, but 8 plants is another story. The last time I grew I got 8 females too, and went ahead and grew all 8. It was a nightmare, way to overcrowded and I got 4 plants worth of bud out of 8 plants. But that was with no LST training and with only a 400 watt HPS, now I have 650 watts. Here's a pic, can I pull it off or should I throw away 2 plants or should I make some kind of screen for the buds?
my cab 400w hps with inside space of 20.5 inch deep 47.75 inch wide 70.3/8 tall i have 48 inch from bottom of air cooled hood to cabs floor. heres the 1st run 10 plants in 2 gal bags Fox Farm ocean forrest soil planty of space around bags for air circulation, built a scrogg screen slammed it on them and pulled 300 grams of very dry nug's. i let them dry out too much yes it can be done right now i have 9 plants in various sized containers mostly 2 liter soda bottels 7 of them 1 - 1 gal bag 1 8x8x8 inch container. my scrogg was a 2-3day recover from the screen then flowered. you could read up on scrogg method for LST thats best started early in the plants life 2-3 wks of age FIM can be done any time before flowering.

with the right strain it can be done, could use hormones to control height but far better off with with a screen or LST to keep them low..
with my strains id only get 4 plants in your space and would need alot of head room plants will finnish at 1m to 1.2m if flowered at 15cm. My currnet grow with clones no veg time using a phillips 600wt covering 1.3x 1m is already overgrowing.

could get this and more growth in the first 7day flowering from clones
with my strains id only get 4 plants in your space and would need alot of head room plants will finnish at 1m to 1.2m if flowered at 15cm. My currnet grow with clones no veg time using a phillips 600wt covering 1.3x 1m is already overgrowing.

thx buddy the screen was 10 inch off soil and 30.5 inch from bottom of lighting. this 1st run wasnt with my current lighting this run was with a borrowed self enclosed ballast old old {15+yrs} 400w hps. pulled 300gram crispy dry nugs i overdried them, with my current way of dryn im sure that run would have come close to 1lb. matter of fact that borrowed light is coming back soon, then i'll tryn cram 800w in the cab and try for 1.5-2 lb's lmao. if i can control the heat i believe i can pull this not to mention i must pull this ammount next runGrownz said:

My cab is 51.5" x 22.75" I ues a 576 watt T-8 floro rack. At present it is overloaded with 12 plants.
