Can I change my light cycle after beginning to flower?

So I just switched to 12/12 a few days ago. The problem is that I chose to put the light period at a somewhat inconvenient time for me to care for my plants. Currently they turn on at 8 pm and turn off at 8 am. Can I safely switch this to 5pm/5am without stressing the plants or is this a bad idea?

Just shut the light off 3 hrs earlier. In nature, days are not the same length. It won't affect them. What you need to be careful of is turning lights off and on during the cycles.

yes but change it on the dark cycle not the light cycle, that is turn it off at 5am and then change the timer, shorter light period won't harm them at all, a shorter dark period can cause stress.

Thats right the daylight hours have little to do with flowering a plant, you must have at least 12 hours dark in a 24 hour period despite light hours.Of course you want to keep it pretty even but I always err on the darkside,mY FLOWERING HOURS ARE 12 HOURS 15 MINUTES DARK AND 11 HOURS 45 MINUTES LIGHT.sOUNDS TRIVIAL BUT TRY IT the other way around sometime. No dont just kidding probably wouldnt matter but you never know, dark's where it's at!Sorry bout the caps
