I think that there are def. times when breeding S1's is necessary, but they are few.
I would avoid it at all costs unless u are a pretty damn good breeder w/ lots of time and space on your hands.
the only scenario I know of where it is practical is if your trying to coax a male flower out of a clone only strain....but regardless it wont leave ya w/ stable genetics.
you could end up doing some backcrosses w/ select plants that dont show hermie tendencies...and hope to find something "close to a truebreed" ...thats where the time and space come into play.
I've tried every way in the book to coax an MTF (matanuska thunderfuck) male flower from clones from my MTF mom, and no matter what she wont do it.
I dont know anything about the strain your using, but u may have better luck than me..

I think Wally Duck used a Bubba Kush S1 (male) to cross with the C99.

I would have thaught that using S1's could pass the hermy trait on to the offspring.. i suppose its possible to stabalise a strain from a clone only, but who knows??

im thinking of pollinating my s1 strain (og kush) with a male of a diffrent strain to make new seeds. do you think that will give me a lot of hermi's?
i dont want to have to worry about trying to force a male banana out of the kush because it will probably be too time consuming.

Hmmm, good question. I would think that because the male flowers in s1's are caused by stress of some sort rather than genetics that they wouldn't pass on the trait but keep in mind that I don't know shit, lol.

and monkey go for it guys, no harm in trying as long as your not going to sell them to ppl under faulse pretenses.....
i made some double oger seeds lass time out, female S1 and a male S1......sent some to a friend who is growing them out now, no bad reports on them at this point NO HERMIES at all......as a matter of fact this is my second run with oger S1 and my first with bubba S1 and i have yet to find a hermie.....i have both my oger and bubba pollenated by a male apollo trip's, i'm seeing seeds on the oger but none on the bubba yet.....
breeding is a fun thing to do just dont try and make lots of cash from the work unless your prepared to take the time to do it correctly.....i make seeds all the time but i'm no TRUE breeder and never will be, but damn i make good crosses and F2's........
monkey, ya bro that would be an excellent cross, i have both of those seeds and let me tell ya that cross is stuck in my head hahaha......go for it bro.......
