I'm really not sure what ppm readings are going to tell you with organic nutrients. I don't think you get the same information as if you were using GH 3 Part or some other salt-based fertilizer. There is actually a thread on this in "Organic Hydro" if you are interested.

Honestly I have no idea, but in your shoes I wouldn't hesitate to try it. If your plants take a turn for the worse a few days after then you will know that it is no good and not to do it again. I personally doubt you will have any problems, but this is just a guess.

is this not the basic principle behind "teas"?

is this a tea for your plants?

Not exactly. When people refer to teas the are usually referring to aerated compost teas (ACTs). These teas take compost material, which is loaded with microbial life (bacteria and fungi), and culture this life by aerating the compost with water and some microbial food sources (usually molasses and/or fish). The idea is then to inoculate your medium with this culture. Typically teas are brewed for between 12 and 24 hours. You can brew a tea longer, but it probably isn't ideal.

Your tea doesn't have any compost of earth worm castings (compost substitute), nor does it have a microbial food sources. It it is hard for me to see the benefits of the "brewing" over simply mixing the stuff up on an as needed basis with water. In any event, I doubt that you are doing any harm by "brewing".

Below are two great references for information on compost teas if you are interested in further reading.

bubbling the nutes makes it super smellly and bubbly...seems like the girls like it. not sure if they like it anymore than just mixing right before application...only time will tell
