I shared a small batch of Candyland x Apollo 11 seeds with a neighbor.
He started some of them July 1 - and they're looking good ...
BUT one of them has not shown sex (total count so far is 2 females, 3 males, 1 un-declared.)
The un-declared plant has the normal 'nubs', pre-sex organs.
It's at the stage where a little hair coming off one of the pre-sex organs makes us think, "It's a Pistil !" ... but it hasn't been, yet.
No miniature-bunch-of-grapes look that indicates a male.
The pics show the stage of growth (10 days ago) and the fate that be-fell one of the males (Chickens Love Pot !)
LIGHTING: Day-light is about 14 hours. Sun-light yesterday was -
start 8:53 AM
stop ~5:30 AM
QUESTION: Can holding back on water during 'puberty' help a 1 1/2 month old plant to not just show its first sexual organ, but to declare conclusively "I am a female plant" ?
