Can fingerprints be lifted from leaves?
This sounds a bit outlandish, but I imagine that a print could be lifted from a leaf, assuming that the leaf had not changed much in size since you last touched it... I have tossed bags of fan leaves out my window driving down the road before (seemed funny at the time, long ago) and then wondered if that was a bad idea.
Still haven't been printed, lol. I want that CCA, but I've always been against getting my prints in the system for various reasons, not all of which being due to my activity.

I'd be more worried about throwing bags of fan leaves out the window because
A. you could get pulled over for littering and have fun explaining a big ol' bag of grow waste
B. it's more likely they'd pull prints off of im assuming a plastic bag you dispose it in than a plant...

No.

Yep, agreed. I'm sure they could get a print from it. But you really need to consider your area, and what level of things police ACTIVELY pursue and investigate.

You guys have been watching to many BS cop shows, csi, etc....
Watch the first 48 if you want to see how the police REALLY work.
The chances on them finding even a remotely usable print on a fan leaf are almost non existent.
In real life they often times struggle to get useable prints off of car doors and windows, the 2 best surfaces around.
Fan leaf? No way.

LOL. Settled. No I didn't throw out the bags, I don't want to destroy the planet's beauty for us!
My area's cops probably wouldn't but who the hell knows. The fact that we even do this underground in the first place is absurd to me just considering the expenditures, so who knows to what lengths they'll go.
Anyway, I'm not worried, lol, it just popped into my head. I used to think it was funny that someone would drive by and see a pile of ganja leaves. Now I think that is an absurd thing to do.
It's funny to look back on yourself, sometimes.

Once saw on a tv show (on discovery I think) that they were presenting a man who invented and made possible the fingerprints prelevation from plants leafs, but he was doing this for homicide cases only (at least that they said on that tv show). I can't remember his name now.. but I'll search some info.

So maybe they could do it... but it's not so easy to be done for every cannabis leaf they can find.

Yes, prints could be lifted in the following manner.

One would have to suspend the leaves containing possible prints in a box, then one would have to heat super glue up on a burner, causing the fumes of cyanoacrylate to suspend in the air.

Settling on the leaves, they will attach to the oils from the fingerprints, and the super glue will make them permanent so the prints can be obtained and run through CODIS.

now will somebody do this? I doubt it.... lol.

oh forgot to mention, they will only show up under an ALS (alternate light sourced)

The pot leaf would also have oils on them. So they'd just mix together.

Thats why if you need to remove finger print's ,,Spray with WD40.

Lola your exactly right in your description of that process, but they are still never going to get a usable print(with the what? 9-14 points that have to match) from a fan leaf from the side of the road.

Now see, I grow such, HUGE, dank herb, that it's likely to have have a single leaf on a fan that is 10-12 inches wide... with the whole fan likely 3 feet wide each..

I been using the fans to thatch a little house out back with. I gots some BIG weed...

I reckon it could be done with a fresh leaf and a fresh print. Dried leaf... no I don't think it could be done.
