hello there. i'm setting up my box and i gotta order a carbon scrubber and was looking at stuff on cheaphydroponics.com i dunno if anyones used them before. and i'm not sure what size to get for my box.

the demensions are 2 1/2ftx4ftx6ft

i'm gonna be using a stanley blower for it. i eventually wanna have 2 cool tubed 400's. do you recon i'll need to get another scrubber than? its not too big of a box so i can't imagine be needing anything more than the canfilter 9000 but i may be totally off :pointlaug

well thanks any input would be great :joint:

2.5x4x6= 60 cubic feet. the can 33 is way more than enough for that box. I would go with a single 600 in that box, try to make it 3x4 though.
the single 600 would save you money on a ballast, reflector and bulb... which really adds up (maybe $600 on the high end estimate)
also, go with an inline fan, AC hood. you can speed control inline fans.

i already have a 400w mh and another hps. the plan was to have 2 cool tubes and run both the lights but now after a car crash i was in i'm in a bit of debt so i'm gonna run just the mh for now. heat shouldn't be much a problem with the ballast outside the tent. the stanley blower supposedly is a great diy. it has 3 speeds and i believe theres 2 different models. either of em are under 65 bucks i think it was. maybe some stanley blower users will pipe in

Hey man,
if you go to the DIY link o rama you'll find a section on odor control. There are a few decent inexpensive scrubbers and on one of the threads there's a formula for figuring scrubber size.
Check it out.
Peace

ya i was checking that out before didn't see the formula for figuring out the size but i'll check it again. i think i'm gonna go with the can filter 2600 and see how that goes. i was hoping with all the smart people around here someone would be able to pop in and help me out. its all good though

The only thing I can tell you is that you want the air that is going into the scrubber to have a 0.1 second contact time with the activated carbon/charcoal....if you're worried about losing alot of CFM's from your fan from pushing/pulling through a scrubber or not giving the air enough contact time with the carbon/charcoal then just build a bigger carbon/charcoal filter.

I would recommend building you're own, they're cheap as hell to build and reliable.

i was hoping that since i don't have a big room a stanley blower would be good enough for cooling my 400's and putting all the exhausted air through the carbon scrubber. cheaphydroponics.com has the can filter 2600 for only 45 bucks which is a pretty price, i was thinking about just building one but they have good prices on that site
