CAN FILTER FLANGE ASSEMBLY

All the models I'm using you simply use self tapping sheet metal screws to fasten the flange to the can. A layer of foam rubber gasket is needed to keep air tight.

Pilot the holes, and screw it in.... make sure you use the gasket, so you don't have any leaks... have fun....

...ps it had me puzzled my first filter as well..... Good Luck!

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience with the goblin filter. I'm using the "Elf" filter which is the Goblins smaller cousin. Got it connected to a 4" vortex on a speed controller in a hydrohut mini. It's doing the job really well so far. What was your issue with the Goblin...I'm just curious...

Glad to see this thread, having the same problem w/ my new Can 66.
Why don't they predrill the flange holes? No directions and nothing on their web site.
Was gonna just epoxy it in place, but then wouldn't be able to change charcoal?
How do you go about changing the charcoal?

Take the top cap off.
Dump the carbon.
Make a hole in the top cap that is between the inner and outer screens.
Put the top cap back on.
Use a funnel to refill with carbon.

are we supposed to use a specific carbon, size wise, or quality? I have a big ass can filter to fill up, it's good now but I'll probably have to refill now mid flower..

3mm pellet...from your local grow shop or a commercial filtration place/supplier.

coolpotnamegone, yes, between the can and flange. I cut the "gasket" (weatherstripping) into about 3 inch pieces, and pieced them into a circular pattern on the can before screwing the flange in place.
Cheap bastards couldn't upgrade to a circular gasket? :cuss:
