Can-Filter 2600- still odor

Hey.
I have a 4" vortex fan with a Can-Filter 2600.
I'm in week 6 of flower and I can smell things even with the filter.

The filter is new but rated for 95cfm.
The fan pulls 174cfm.
Could this be the cause of the odor?
The fan doesn't have a speed controller, it's just running at full.

I'm thinking of buying a speed controller and slowing the fan down.

Any ideas?

imo, the fan speed is likely the cause of the problem.

The air is going through the carbon too fast, so it doesn't have the "contact time" to remove odors fully.

bojangles is right on... Get a speed controller or a smaller fan or a bigger filter.

hooked to this for last almost 2 yrs and i'm just startn to smell the grow i need a new filter.

harbor freight has a router controler ,its what i use ,and cheap 15 bucks
