can drug dogs sniff out buried treasure(marijuana) say 12 inches down in a hole dug in a forest?

will particles and oder travel from the container/bag up to where a drug dog could smell it?

will rain wash the ground clear of any scent detectable to the dog?

Sorry............dunno the answer to your queries. But....,,,...if you try a search about drug sniffing dogs on a good engine, I imagine you will be inundated with accurate info.

stay safe

you should read the post a few posts down. It claims a dog can smell different smells at the same time. Like you can look into a sald and see lettuce, carrots, cheese, etc. You can name every ingredient in the salad. Well supposedly dogs can do the same with smells. Weed buried under a pile of shit, the dog smells weed and shit, where we would just smell shitty weed.

This is apparently why masking MJ doesnt work.

I do not know how far they can smell or how deep they can penetrate

IMO a dog has a really good chance of finding anything you bury close enough to the surface that they could dig that hole and put it in there themselves. I would go way deeper, at least a couple/few feet. Think grave, not sandbox.

If you bury it in some thin bags, the smell will almost surely radiate out. However, if you vacuum seal it a couple times over, and then store it in a very sturdy, thick, airtight container, and then bury it a few feet down, it will be safe for pretty much eternity.

PROTIP: Don't lose the location!

So all the stories of people burying cash hasnt deterred you from making the same mistake with weed?

When you unbury it and if it isnt 100% completely moldy you should call it jesus weed since it will take a miracle.

Earth to earth, dust to dusty, you'll be lucky if it becomes just a little musty.

Gold is very dense to the extent that ten million U.S. dollars worth occupies less than one cubic foot.

One kilogram = 1000 grams = 32.15074656 troy ounces
(value US$24,360.62 as of Oct. 15, 2007).

The Royal Canadian Mint has produced the world's first 100-kilogram gold coin with a face value of $1 million. And they're for sale.

Why did it do this? "Because we can," the mint said on its website.

The coin is the size of a "very thick pizza" — 50 centimetres wide and three centimetres thick — and is .99999 pure.

It was originally meant to be a one of a kind novelty item to help promote a new line of one-ounce Maple Leaf bullion coins that will have a face value of $200.

But after several interested buyers came forward, the mint decided to produce "a very limited quantity" of the $1-million coins on a made-to-order basis for public sale.

Even though the big coin has a face value of $1 million, it won't sell for that. At current prices,
the coin's 3,215 troy ounces of gold are worth well over $2 million
.

IM got it in one :) lol

but doesnt rain make it more difficult/impossible to detect it as the rain will wash the molecules/odor back into the soil?
vaccum seal several times with thick plastic, several feet down...
what is the whole outside of the bag was covered in vaseline to capture anything traveling through the plastic/glass

I would think putting it in a ammo box with some kind of desiccant (rice or something better) would prevent mold. Ammo cans are used for "geocaching" and can stay underground for years without the goods getting damaged.

Wait...What?

I know people who regularly bury weed and dig it up months later just fine. keeps them from being temped when they need to clean out. Not sure why you would think it would mold on its own. Its not like mold spores travel through two feet of soil and a jar's lid...

as long as you can keep it dry, you're golden.

Imo a few months is a stash. People bury stuff for years. When the ground is going to warm up in the morning and cool at night theres nothing you can do about condensation forming.

An option might be a propylene glycol/water mixture or a glycerol/water mixture on a sponge, like in a humidor. It will stabilize the relative humidity in the air.

Thats awesome :)

To answer the question... Smoke it.
If you bury it too shallow, it'll get sniffed out.
Too deep it'll get moldy probably.
Too deep and not well sealed...
Moldy and smelled out.

Smoke it :joint:

I read a report on a cocaine smuggling case where a kilo of cocaine was sealed in a vacuum sealer sealed in grease, tin foil sealed the grease onto to the bag, vacuum sealed it again and then it was stored INSIDE the gas tank of a truck and the drug dog STILL smelled it, weed most definitely has much more a pungent odor than cocaine so I wouldn't take any chances with any drug dogs

The odors work themselves out. If you wear gloves and double bag your weed in a ziploc bag or something of the sort, it'll be OK for a while (i.e. a short car ride). However, burying it...

Unless its way way way down there, it'll be found.

I know I've already replied, but I've gotta ask. Why are you so worried? Can't you just keep it in a safe or something?
