can drug dogs smell through activated carbon?

if you were transporting a reasonably small amount of weed, lets say quarter ounce...if you wrapped it up real good, then put it in a bigger bag full of activated carbon, and then wrapped again, would a drug dog be able to pick up the smell?

i know that drug dogs can smell different things mixed together, but will the smell be gone all together passing through the carbon?

If you wrap it up, put on gloves, wrap it again, lather rinse and repeat, and pass the dogs soon after wrapping it, you should be OK.

sealed container (like a sealed room) with a carbon scrubber filtering the air in the container going while you are running the car would theoretically work, considering it works at removing the smell from sealed grow rooms, and the dogs don't get tipped off there.

if you absolutely need to travel with mj, buy some animal urine at your local gardening supplier and spray it on the base of your tires. That will drive the dog nuts and pretty much render it useless.

Wouldn't work, imo.

The whole idea of carbon is that the air gets sucked or pushed through it, and it traps the oils and stuff in the air that you can smell.

Carbon won't work if the air is moving too fast, or not moving at all.

Vacuum sealing before you leave will be best, as the smell will not have time to permeate the bag unless you're on a multi-day trip. Even then, bring the sealer and bags and seal it up fresh before you leave each time. Make sure your hands and everything are clean from any kind of cannabis dust or residue.

Definitely don't spray urine on your tires - that advice has been discussed in the barry cooper threads and the consensus is that it isn't a good idea.

Don't mess with trying to mask the scent of your weed. Dogs' sense of smell is THOUSANDS of times stronger than a humans...they can smell weed submerged in a full gas tank!

My advice: leave the weed at home and see if you can score at your destination. If you are trying to move serious weight, hire someone else to transport it for you.

Yeah...the urine is not a good idea. It will "alert" the dog...thus giving the fuzz a reason to search.

One bit of helpful info. from BARRY COOPER'S videos however is that "dogs cannot smell THROUGH anything....". The odor has to permeate through the bag, container, etc....to smell....
That is unless you've contaminated it by "transferrence" of dust particles, and other particulate matter onto the package/container your transporting in.

The Cooper video goes on to say that "each type of bag or container takes a different amount of time to allow the smell to permeate and leak through allowing the dog to smell it".

So using that logic, Cooper showed how you can put nugs into a bag with plastic gloves.....throw away the gloves......seal the bag up.....then throw the bag into another container....like a thermos or something.

Now you've covered your bases: you didn't transfer anything to the container or bag. The nugs haven't had time to permeate the bag yet...and certainly not the container.

He also advises that you do this type of procedure as close to the time you're going to transport your stuff. Additionally he states that for the same reasons...you should put the stuff in the innermost part of your car....(so dogs can't smell things if they walk them around the car).

Bascially if you had enough bags and containers...and were careful enough putting it all together...it would take a very long time to have the odor seep through.......but it would eventually happen.

So using old bags is a bad idea....fresh ones are great. I've heard about these things called "Smelly bags" that are sold at head shops.....apparently they are less permeable...and can contain the odor longer and better.

Im 90% sure a dog cant smell this: if you quadruple bag a quarter ounce with clean hands, then put some activated carbon in a bigger bag and then tripple bag that whole contraption and put it in a big clean brand-new manila envelope. Theres no way 7gs of bud smell can penetrate that many bags.

well either way if the drug dogs cant find it there is still a good chance they search your car and find it. i really dont feel safe traveling with weed and probably wont do it

i suppose the only way to do it is by carrying a small joint on me, and swallow it if i get pulled over. thats what barry cooper said is the smartest thing to do. i didnt purchase his shit either, just watched online for free. he doesnt help his appearance by trying to capitalize off 'helping the cause'

If you made a air-tight container that had a micro carbon scrubber/fan in there (running from your car battery or a inverter; maybe use a cooler as a container) it would be constantly scrubbing the air clean... Hard for odors to permeate through a container when they are only in contact with the container walls for a tiny amount of time.

It's because it takes AGES for odor to permeate through certain plastics. Ideally we'd have a list of materials with a number from 1 to 0 rating its odor permeability (But I cant find a sheet like this)

I live near a checkpoint and I go through it about two to three times a month, now where i go to I am my father's care giver he has cancer, so I always try to bring across a lil, like an ounce. This is what I do, and the one time I got lazy and didn't, they pulled everyone of the bus, took the dog on, and it went apenuts right where I was sitting, I got away by the hair on my chinny chin chin to say the absolute very least.

*Wash Hands Between Each Step
1) I would get the sandwich baggy its in and put it in a freezer ziplock and roll it up real tight. (Wash Hands or Switch Fresh Gloves or better yet Both)

2) Step on it to sqish it, then wrap it up with saran wrap and smear vasoline around it to fill any gaps in the wrap. (Wash Hands or Switch Fresh Gloves or better yet Both)

3) Wrap it again with saran wrap making sure to get it tight and not to miss a spot, use your common sense. (Wash Hands or Switch Fresh Gloves or better yet Both)

4) Repeat steps two and three as many times as you feel like it needs to be done.

5) Then I wrap it in a bit of toilet paper and tape it securly to the inside of my whity tightys where my dick should be.

Also Vacuum searlers plus this would work for sure, your next goal would be to look innocent in dress and belongings, dont look all thuged out or gothic, just be normal middle class person.

Ok, I travel a ton for work and have yet to have this fail me so far.

basically, you need seal that shit up, buy some grippies and stuff it in.

If you use a vacuum sealer, for heavens sake, buy freezer bags, they hold the smell better and for three bucks, come on, I think my freedom is worth three bucks.

Wearing gloves, seal the bud up, drop in a tupperware of bleach, swap gloves, pull bag out, seal inside another bag(I put some lemon bleach inbetween the bags) and dip in bleach again. Remember to dry off your bag before sticking it next to your kids.

I've been doing this for a couple of years without problems, unlike my less intelligent idea of using a scrunchie to hide my hash, which was only wrapped in plastic wrap, while securing it around my dingleberries.

Oh, and always take a fresh piece if you're traveling. I wrap those in a ziploc and tuck that in as well. (trust me, nobody wants to smoke out of your nut-sweat pipe)

as to lighters, have a reason to have them, I have been asked so many times why I am carrying a lighter and people only buy the "I was a boy scout and they taught us to be prepared" line for so long.

I carry a cigarette case with a dozen in it just in case. Also, great for covering the smell of weed if you're smoking a j and get pulled over. Just light one up immediately and puff like a mofo. then as the policeman walks up, make sure to put it out as he's walking up and apologize for the smoke if he makes a face at it, seems to make it seem sincere, like you really care.
