Can dramatic wattage reduction induce flowering?

I am currently maxed out on wattage/amps in my grow. I was vegging under 1000 mh but needed the ballast for flowering. I am now vegging under 2 t8 shop lights (128w total). Can I run the 1000 for 12 hrs during the dark period of the flower room and then the t8s the other 12 hrs without inducing flowering? I know flowering is triggered by darkness but am concerned about such a dramatic reduction in lumens during the 12 hrs the light is used for flower room

I think I understand what you're saying - Do you intened to move the lamp between rooms twice a day? That sounds like a nightmare!

As for flowering - don't worry. Anything significantly stronger than moonlight during the "dark" period" will prevent it. Your shop lights will do the job just fine. :)

moving the light is a pain but its my only option right now. i was rechecking my amp use last night and i think i can squeeze in about 400w. as soon as i get the funds i am going to get an 8 bulb t5 or a 400w mh

I cant really move the plants. All I can do right now is take to 1000 from the flower room after the lights go off and move it into the veg room

I have a strain I had for a year and a half and every time I clone it it flowers a little, yes small buds and yes my light is on 24/7. I actually like that though as it makes it a extreme bush a strain with no hermie tendencies and a automatic reveger.

The difference in light makes no difference its the low light of cloning. What I mean is if you go from 1000 to 250 it won't flower but 30w 24/7 is what I clone with and it happens

I would like to add I have 6 strains and only 1 does it so I don't belive it to be too common
