Calling your hydro shop on the phone

My shop is frequently out of Fox Farm soils so I like to call them before I make the drive out (I go to one away from my home, skipping the local ones) to get some. I use 800-goog-411 so that it's not on my phone records as a call to the hydro shop, it's a free call and through an automated 411 system. Maybe this will help someone and if anyone sees a problem with this please let me know.

I do the same, but I use a pay phone. All toll free numbers log all incoming phone numbers for billing purposes. *67 will help with local calls to keep off of caller id's, but *67 has no effect on 800's. Also, if LEO subpoenas your phone records they will get a copy of all local, long distance, and toll free numbers. Remember, just because they aren't on your bill doesn't mean the phone company doesn't have the logs.

What is ANI (Automatic Number Identification)?

ANI (Automatic Number Identification) is a system utilized by telephone companies to identify the DN (Directory Number) of a calling subscriber.
ANI serves a function similar to Caller-ID, but utilizes different underlying technology. In addition, although Caller-ID can be blocked by prefixing a call with *67, ANI is (usually) impossible to block.

ANI was originally developed for telephone company billing purposes. ANI technology is also now offered to commercial customers who may benefit from knowing who is calling them. In addition, ANI is one of the core technologies behind the 911 emergency service.

ANI data is usually transmitted in-band using multi-frequency (MF) signaling. However, ANI data can also be transmitted separately if you have an ISDN PRI.


Here is a list of ANI numbers (Try blocking your number with *67. I would suggest trying these from a safe phone or better yet a pay phone. I don't want to be accused of being LEO trying to trick ICMAG peeps into giving up their digits):

The answer is in my original post 800-GOOG-411 is a toll free 411 service. I don't know about you but I don't like paying to use 411 on a cell phone and that's the only phone I've got, not sure if there is much of a charge on a landline to dial 411.

Thanks for the info, although truthfully, I don't know what you mean by all those phone numbers you posted, if I dial one of those while trying to block out my number will it just tell me it has my number anyway?

Either way, I guess I wasn't trying to save people from trouble if their phone records are subpoenaed I usually would figure if they're looking into you that much you're already on your way to being busted Then again, I'm not really sure if I believe that they'd check my records, then get goog-411's records, to find out the numbers I was having them dial, which is usually chinese or pizza.

In a paranoid world I was just looking to give us a minor edge, what I know for sure is this. The call is free. It shows up on my phone bill as 800-4664-411. It connects me to the other party. It shows up on the receiving ends caller ID as some 800 number (not sure what 800 number it shows).

i make calls like that with tracphone paid for with cash from some location where cctv is not an issue. it can't be tied to you if you don't call anyone you would normally call with your cell phone or divulge personal information while using the phone. then just ditch the phone and get another whenever.

Yea those Trac phones are nice but they have other pre-paids at CVS and Wallgreens that are better. Like the Net-10 phones. The Net-10s are $30 and come with 300 minutes. Also you don't have to give a name or anything. You just pay $30 and turn it on. You do need to punch in a phone number to activate it but everybody I know always uses a fake one. These phones are great for communication because you can use it and nobodys name is on a peice of paper anywhere. As long as you don't say names over them, Net-10s are perfect. So if you have a good code set up with your people you never even have to say anything incrimminating on them. Also Police can't tie any of the phones to anybody. They might however be able to determine where the phones were purchased. Now if they were purchased in a store that has security cameras then you see where this is going. So all somebody would need is a buffer to purchase phones for them. Then you can call the hydrostore, Spain, your dealer or anybody without worry. Plus they are only $30!! You could toss them everyday if you had to..

Net-10 and Tracfone are both on the same network, at least when you call their customer service they use the same one.

But honestly, unless your running serious commerical grow i think its overkill. I have a tracfone whenever i need to make calls that i deem "felonious" but in reality, it costs law enforcement THOUSANDS of dollars to run wire taps and grab phone records, money they dont have right now. Unless your big time tony montana with the weight in your local area, dont fret.

Of course, if they are tapping me right now on some freebie shit and i catch felonies tommorow, dont heed my advice!
