Calling out douchebags..anybody else having a bad day

What in the hell is wrong with people today.

I came close to getting in a fight with 1, then 2, then 3 construction workers...

Why you might ask....

Well I always medicate in a certain park, and there is a lady who walks thru every day, she has tourettes, nice lady...but can't help herself, when she first looks at someone she swears...then she can talk normally for a bit till she swears again....not her fault and she tries really hard to control it.

So I'm walking down the street today after getting my son a few lego books as gifts, and low and behold what do I see...

Construction worker #1 teasing the poor lady, and calling her fucking crazy etc.

So I tried to educate him by saying she has Tourettes, and got some static from him...I continued by explaining how only a dickhead would call a lady with tourettes fucking crazy...Apparently that means I'm not minding my own business.

Well I've had a pretty shitty week, my neck was hurting and just itching for the guy to take a run at me...

So what happens,He calls his buddy #2 and he starts piping up along with #3 how they will kick my ass.

I'm smart and 3 on 1, and I'm gonna fucking lose so after a few more "only douchebags tease disabled people" comments I left as the lady with tourettes was gone by this point.

But what the FUCK is wrong with people today...Honestly...

Good on you for sticking up for that woman. The fact asshole #1 called for # 2 and #3 to help indicates they are all cowards. I bet if you bitch slapped #1, the other two would have happily went the other direction. Probably best you let things de-escalate though.

I call out people for being fuck-sticks all the time. Most just mumble something under their breath and walk away. If everybody publicly called out assholes there would be fewer assholes.

okay, a situation like that aside, most folks up here in northern minnesota are polite to each other, most of us are carrying handguns

3 against 1 could result in serious physical damage, maybe brain damage, if the good Samaritan hasn't actually escalated the situation and is on the defensive with no safe means of retreat the ccw training course I took from a retired cop allows for an affirmative defense.


As I left work one night after closing the bar some guy got the jump on me, I angered him (a local logger) by cutting him off and then throwing him out after he started making threats, yup he was waiting for me. I didn't see/hear him sneak up but he cornered me as I'd just opened the door of my Wagoneer. He really wasn't all that drunk but had a bad attitude that night.

this guy was a mountain, just huge, I was dead meat until I suddenly thought to reach around behind my back to grab my .44 which I knew I didn't have on me, but fuckface didn't know that, and lucky me, I had a reputation for always carrying that shiny snubnose 44.

so he stood there pointing his finger in my face screaming at me for better than a half an hour, the entire time I kept my hand on my belt behind my back. John must've been thinking that he'd have to kill me with his first punch 'cuz I sure as fuck was gonna kill him with mine. He finally just walked away, came back 2 days later sober and apologizing.

I told that same story to my local sheriff as I was applying for my carry permit, he howled with laughter and said that's why he issues permits to those who ask, it usually keeps the idiots in check.......

"Hey man, I have no problem going back to prison for manslaughter!" and then stare at him. If he backs down...phew. If he rears up...then it is "fight or flight". Me...I am never afraid of a bloody nose, but I prefer "peace" over "conflict" (hah, just tell that to my body scars...lol).

One of my boys is *different* and endured sh!t from asswipes like that, for far too long... whenever I see something like that happen, it brings up everything he went thru & it just makes my blood boil (so sometimes I get in over my head vis-a-vis goon squads, too; fortunately, I'm a big guy, and folks say I'm intimidating when I'm red-faced, so it usually doesn't go the wrong way on me, lmao)

So, maybe the day started like a sh!tstorm... but, hopefully, the +karma will see it end much better.

Sadly no Ccw up here and I doubt the police would like me carrying my 870 around. It sure would have made things polite.

Though personally I would have rather just have sent my 90lb GSD to chew on their asses... Death for teasing is a bit much.

I think I see the problem here.
Generally speaking, assholes don't like to be told they're assholes even when they know they are being assholes.
Adding the dickhead in there sealed the deal. You were cruising for a bruising at that point, no matter how noble your intentions were.
Calling someone a dickhead is not considered a main pillar of the diplomatic art and it would do Ms.Tourettes no service if you ended up with your jaw wired for a few months.

By all means, make your point but know when to back off unless your ready to go John Wayne and have a really fast draw.
I think the explanation of the Tourettes would have made more of a difference, if not in that encounter, then maybe in the next, without the dickhead. It's the difference between being a casual commenter and a casualty because your ego got in the way.
