Hey wassup ICMAG

Got into some trouble and im looking at prison. Not county this time. Strait up prison. Its my first time going into a state facility. Ive been dancing around juvi and county all my life but this time its looking like state time. So yeah, I know that first time prisoners get to go to san quen. Just wanting to know what its like in there. Im considering tracking down people in my old life that were sentenced with harsh time and still serving. But thats going to take a while. I dont feel like talking about what happend, it had nothing to do with growing or drugs, and no im not a thief or a pervert, just have a temper. If theres anyone on this site that has recently been released I just have some questions about prison life and gangs. Dont trip, I wont ask you anything specific about yourself. Just wanting to know some info. This is not one of those things where im trying to weasel my way out and lie out of it. Im prepared to do a couple of years. I dont need prayers. I feel bad on what I did and want to own up to it.

yeah the 3rd link was very helpfull. I know the basic rules in there. But I want to know specific details about my race in there. And you know how it is. Race is everything in there. So yeah, anybody that has recently been released from a california state pen, I have some simple questions. Come on guys, I know some of you guys can get on the phone and ask some questions for me. Its all im asking.

trust me id rather be in a candian prison then a california prison anyday. shit id rather be in a federal prison then a california prison. atleast you can smoke brand name cigs in there, in california you have to smoke tobacco that came out some dudes ass and that was rolled with bible paper. sigh...

damn good luck dude. my dad was in prison for like almost 5 years in the early 70's. its alot different now though

man good luck, and i hear you asking about gangs and such, but dude try to steer away from that, a buddy i went to high school with went into prison, didnt want to get punked so went and stabbed someone for a gang to get in with them, somehow lucked out and didnt get caught , got out of prison a few years later, stabbed someone and now he's going right back in

well thats good that your willing to except that if you can do the crime you can do the time. being locked up sucks. been locked up in civilian and milltary establishments.
theres nothing nice about it at all. when i was younger i was a real knuckle head. i hope this sends you to fly right and stay out of trouble. good luck

the fact is if your a pussy on the outside then you will be a bitch on the inside.maybe not sexually but if you let people fuck with ya then it will be hell. just dont get caught up in the BS and try and bide your time excercizing your mind and body. take advantage of any educational programs they have ,read alot and stay busy working. if ya can get in the kitchen your set food wise.dont get into the gang bs.them fuckers are so petty and aint got a clue for the most part. you should try to be stronger and smarter apon your release. good luck man

On the other hand, my advice to you is that if a REAL issue comes to your attention, don't hesitate to snitch. If, for example, you learn of a plot to injure an officer, the best thing to do is to snitch! The guards will love you for it and most boot camp prisoners will see the common sense to it.

Depending on how much time you have, Id try to go to Fire Camp which is an option you should start asking the judge for now. Mention it, in the long run depending on how many priors you have they should be in it with in the first year of your sentence. San quin. is no joke if thats the prison you are going to, older people 40s plus seem to be in and out with little bad happening. If you are younger expect to try to be tagged to social group thats into hating others. Stay away from the drug croud completely. FIre camp is hard, but time in pen. would be harder. Nobody comes out normal from prison.
