As far as LED's go those look like nice lights. They are using 5w lights as apposed to most, who are using 3's.

I know that they prolly don't deliver a full 5w, but do the 3's put out a full 3w, hhmmmm.

Yea you are correct. From my calculations these LEDs are pushed to 77.5 % of their maximum potential. That figure came from the wattage pull given by the company. 620/800 = .775 or 77.5%. So 77.5 % of 5 watts is around 3.9 watts. This shouldn't be a problem for longevity as the heatsinks seem pretty massive which I believe is why the unit is so heavy. I'll have better numbers once I get actual wattage pull with a kill a watt meter

nice thread, the light looks powerful and solidly built. waiting to see how it performs.

here's a little update. were about 8 days into flowering and only 1 day under the solar storm. the plants are sour kush, kandy kush, la blanca, and white widow. these plants were my first plants vegged with led's under the advanced diamond series. the plants definitely are a little different than the past under the MH. they're a little shorter and definitely bushier with possibly closer internodes. hope this translates into some positives...

Looks nice in there!

thanks. tbh the plants are a little smaller than i'd like for now. i was running a little behind on getting cuts in veg so i'm not sure if that's the reason or if i need to dial in the led growing differences. we'll see once they're legs are fully stretched. having so many strains at once also unlevels the canopy a bit but i usually use my old encyclopedias to prop up the runts.

on a side note, the fixture is pretty loud. only real drawback i can find so far. i have the filtration set up with an 8" windtunnel on a variac turned down pretty low and the led overpowers the ventlation on sound. not a huge deal though....

The Lumigrow fixtures are also noisy. I changed out my cooling fans to the newer version that was supposed to be much quieter, but it turns out that the bulk of the racket comes from the fan in the power supply.

How stable is your tent? I have that same tent, and when I had my DIY fixture (46lbs), fan and carbon filter mounted in there, it was a spooky s.o.b.. I moved it into my GL80 pretty quickly!

it's definitely pretty much maxed out but seems stable none the less. the fan is actually sitting on top of the tent nestled into the port of the fabric facing upward and blowing toward the ceiling. the filter is a phresh which are supposedly light but still quite heavy. i've always wanted to run x braces on the 3 sides that aren't the door to help with the tent sucking in and i'm sure would also make the tent a little more stable.

plants are looking great and have responded positively to the LED changeover. they're stretchin'/fillin' out quite nicely. i'm going to try and update once a week with pics so a few more days and i'll be back...

plants haven't really stretched any different than under the 1k but they do seem a little bushier. the two plant tops that i photographed above are kandy kush which are a stretchy plant. maybe that's what you are seeing....

My plants have started to stretch pretty good under the LED's as well. His look like he only has 2 that are outpacing the others.

yea, the kandy's are always a little taller than the rest. tall, lanky, thin, stretchy plant but well worth it...

I guess the tubes on the sides are uvb bulbs. Curious as to how much uvb they put out. I know these uvb lights need to be quite close to the plants to get much intensity.

most LED grows tend to produce tighter nodes and that tends to produce shorter plants... :2cents:
