cali strain scene washed up, what do people want

Not so easy to come up with a new elite clone that turns heads guys. You are talking about going through tons of seeds to find a true gem that would compete with the already established cuts. Also there are not alot of new cuts out there, just new names to sell to the naive. How many OGs, Kushes, Purps? If you can grow and put out a quality product your bottom line should show the fruits of your labor. Forget trying to come together and dominate a market. Find your market niche and offer the people what they want. Easy and profitable biz strategy that has been paying bills all over the world for centuries. As for Cali being played out?? I will say it again. When I can walk into a local store and literally buy 20-30 different cuts like I can here, I might consider moving there. Til then Cali is tha shit!!! Look everybody cant be the super grower, cloner, weed guy and do it proper and for profit. Way harder than it looks. People see pics here on ICMAG and people think "I can do that"! Problem is no they cant!!

i see alot of mediocre buds in the bay area...but i still cant find Sour D in any great quantity. its like 1 here, 1 there, and its always more than 32. some people still get pretty good tickets for their top notch at the clubs.....if your selling indoor for 2800 its probably not that flashy. most growers i know right now are still getting 3-32 for good indoor...and ounces still selling for 25-300, and i know breakdown people still waxing customers 50-60 an 8th no joke....shit i just went to a cannabis club and paid 38 bucks for two measly grams not making that mistake again.

people want that flash right now...that bud that is drippping with frost and is better than all their friends. and they want variety too...OG kush is always a solid winner but theres a few exotics out there like the blueberry headbands and good jack herre sativa crosses but its never in any serious quantity.....the people who pull 10# at a time are fucking with the same GDP or Blue Dream cross because they yeild well and still get 28-32 to the first line of brokers.

theres a cut of Blackberry kush or Purple Bubba Kush (not sure exactly what it is) going around that is pretty sought after. This cut is from a grower who only pulls 3lbs per harvest but he swears he cant give the cut to anybody because of someone up the ladder who is hoarding it. I have seen some of this up in Sacramento going for high ass prices...and this went around San Francisco a couple months back, Jacka and Bern were smoking on it at concerts and it was going for mid-high threes too.

If I wanted to grow any to sell I know for a fact local dispensaries would pay at least mid to high 3's and some more for well grown frosty as the north pole SOL Sweet Tooth, there are not many buds with a better bag appeal plus the grapefruity sweet berry funk smell with the anti-depressant happy glowing buzz is all she wrote.

If you guys want something that people desire and will keep coming back for more see if you can get some decent Sweet Tooth cuts going, you will thank me later!

I live in cali and I don't mess with bubble any more. I smoke hash oil with a vapor swing hash bong if I want to get retarded. As far as strains that get what they are worth, Sour D done right, Chem dog done right, OG kush done right, Jack herer, Cindy 99 and Cindy 99 crosses.

If I were you I would surf through some of Rez's gear. Some very night C99 crosses, and quality is always there with Rez.

LOL...Im a southern cali native born in glendale and grew up in eagle rock. Moved to a upper midwest red state and I get 50 for 3 grams all day long,they fucking beg for it. We are not far from canada, but no beasters here only mexi brick. Its like cali in the mid 80s when I was in high school with only rare kind buds. Your market is saturated, move and get rich if you dont go to the pen. No slaps on the wrist up here. Fuck Im high.

Cali is flooded period! There are so many bullshit growers there that it's ridiculous. I started seeing cali fall off when prop 215 came in 1996. Then the vietnamese gangs brought the "beasters" and the "commercial purp" in. They came in and made millions off that bullshit, and it's never been the same since. The Growers in Cali that are in it for profit need to change with the times. If your area is flooded, then you have to get buyers from elsewhere(southern/east coast states), or you can grow sweet tooth and it will solve all of your problems Just a part of the game..Things are changing

lets not get all dodged down on the growers only-its the customers who need to be educated-when your educated, you make better choices about your health.
those better choices will probably include organically grown meds done in small batches, freebies given out as mentioned by previous poster to gain clientele who may have never heard of your chongolese hash plant
its not about the lowest priced meds-if it were so, farmers markets would be dead, organic farms would be out of business, wineries would dry up etc.

You won't see me post much around...but I have to jump in this conversation. I'm not a grower...I'm a user (heavy user). However, I was just looking into seed yesterday ( I need to start growing my own). I was thinking how hard it was to get ahold of good weed where I'm at. I still get charged 60/8th for mid grade...and I know my weed...I know I'm buying mid grade. I have no choice in the matter. The U.S. is where most good weed came from though. It was developed here...transported over to Holland and Spain and resold back to us...if they feel like it. If I were to start my garden now it would be incredibly difficult and dangerous to try to acquire what I want. It's still against GOD's law in my part of this free and accepting country , and the genetics I want aren't available for the U.S. buyer. So what I mean to say is...why is it so difficult to get the good weed? shouldn't demand make it EASIER to get the good weed? Also, only inexperienced and pain med. user use indicas...the majority of peeps want a good sativa. It yields more too...so whats the problem? the user is uneducated in most cases...asking for what they know...which is what has been sold to them for years. A fast, easy, commercial indy. The growers did it to themselves in many cases. Start growing something besides the fake kushes.

Cali breeders should get some pure landraces ( Afghans, Pakis, Thais, Malawi, Colombian, Mecican and etc. ) and breed some completely different strain - from 0 to Cup winner
New stuff will be always better, I`m sure most of you are bored with the cuts and strains you have grown and smoked thousands of times

the pioneers of the cali scene did it in the 70s and 80s
the glow from the owsley acid was still apparent and conditions were ripe for sharing and caring
we will never see this come out of cali again unless its legalized in November
will legal be a good thing-no-it'll be fucking great-we will see an evolution in ganja on a scale that has not happened since Sam-this will be bad for seed sellers though since the sharing and caring pendulum swing will guarantee it-no more buying $200 packs of seed!!
i would love nothing more than to work in ganja R&D in cali, this time next year attempting to create med strains/clones of the highest order
