Calaveras County Sheriff enlists CHP to combat crime during cannabis harvest 2016

The above link doesn't work but you can find the story at calaverasenterprise.com

It looks like CHP is giving three patrol units from September to November. The Sheriff advises non growers to stay away from grows, and says his agency is getting help with harvest security from CHP.

700+ farmers have paid fees of 5k per farm for inspectors and deputies and some of those welcome the help.

They also want to use that fee money to hire an officer for the marijuana enforcement team for "security".

I'm not from Calaveras but this seemed a bit twighlight zone like with police protecting growers.

I always see more chp on the road than normal in the fall.

One time in october on my way from santa cruz to the bay I saw literally dozens and they were pulling people over left and right.

You can be damn sure that our sheriff does not intend to protect growers. In pevious articles, he practically invited criminals up to rob us. His department begged and pleaded for an all out ban numerous times. He is NO friend to the growers here! He begged to have the authority to backround check everybody who steps foot on our farms! When citizens asked what they could do about the 'weed'problem', he said they should all get conceal carry permits. It doesn't take an Einstein to see what he was encouraging. He is no friend to the cause. He told a group of non-profit church folk who are helping fire victims to rebuild, to not help growers because we are dangerous. He convinced them. He reached out to the feds to come in and take care of us. Luckily they said no because their boss, Obama, Said "Hell No". To top it all off, he is demanding that all registered growers furnish him with the make, model and license plate number on all vehicles that will be transporting any amount of our crops this fall. This is a mandatory question on the backround check! He said that the whole packet had to be complete, or the application would be denied. Don't believe a word out of his mouth.

...sounds to me a lot like the pigs are going to go around fucking people with the long dick of the law and being paid to do it by the very growers that they'll be bending over smartpots.

...but that's none of my business.

Of course.

As soon as all that weed comes off the dry lines its gotta go somewhere.

Its easy to be medical with live plants, much harder with a bunch of turkey bags full of weed in the trunk.

Scetch as hell

Be safe out there

This is a paragraph from the California sheriffs website-

California Sheriffs strongly reject the notion that marijuana is harmless. The marijuana being cultivated today is exponentially more concentrated than that of years ago. The potential for abuse and overdose is extremely great. Law enforcement is on the front lines of the damage, lost lives and broken communities that result from the careless use of this drug. Our message is clear: marijuana is a dangerous drug and California should not legitimize its use.

I don't think they are going to help any grower.

It is quite obvious the California Highway Patrol has not read any of the studies showing the effectiveness of the cannabis plant and its chemicals.

As Upton Sinclair wrote,

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary depends upon his not understanding it."
