Cage Trellising for BIG Plants

I never see anyone talking about this, but I know personally how important it is to support BIG plants. 'Cage trellising' is the term I use to describe how these HUUGE plants are able to stand AND support the massive colas they produce..

VERY IMPORTANT that if you plan to grow big plants, you have the support needed to keep the plant standing, AND ALSO support the heavy flowers..

From my experience, 'cage trellising' can GREATLY increase yeilds for these outdoor plants..

I've included a pic of my one bag seed this year.. Pot size is 100gal..
I planted in pot on 4/19 thanks to a little supplemental lighting.
Pic was taken today..

PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR THOUGHTS, OPINIONS, TIPS, CRITICISM, ANYTHING ABOUT TRELLISING THESE PLANTS THROUGH THEIR SUPPORT CAGES.. IMO THERE IS NOT ENOUGH INFO ON THIS SUBJECT

I prefer concrete remesh.

I prefer to place the first cage on top of the soil, not wrapped around the pot if using smart pots.

After they are through the cage and before final stretch I make 4 posts with tpost and 12 ft bamboo and then make a "box" of hortinova that the plants can stretxh through that will support them though flower.

great link Schrews.. I remember reading that post by Butte when looking into supp. lighting..
totally forgot about the stuff on training.

Question... Is it ever too EARLY to start training and trellising?

Great thread... Was about to start one similar. Was beat to it! I can't under estimate how important the first cage is. I procrastinated in the greenhouse and didn't get small cages on in time, and lost some large bottom branches as a result.
