i never wanted a grow diary. seems like a pain in the ass but i'm finding my stoner organizational skills are a disaster leading to shyt grows. so here we go. feel free to ask questions or give advice. i'm learning how to use a camera too. bare with me.

strains are c99 x blackberry and c99 x california orange bud. both by wallyduck.

these beans were cracked i'm going to say.....late sept. early oct. about 1 month veg under cfls. got to about 8 inches. medium is 50% ocean forest 50% botanicare coco.

they've been lightly fed mexican guano tea and worm casting tea. trying to keep it organic for taste. i like coco, roots love coco.

i'm cloning to discover sex and then get a bunch of plants for a northern farmer style stadium grow.

this is my 2nd attempt at cloning. first time was a success for roots but clones were of males. cloning with shultz hormone powder, rockwool and b'cuzz power plugs. put a few drops of superthrive into tap water for the clones to soak in. didn't have time to let them soak 24 hours, more like 5 minutes. made second cutting underwater to prevent air bubbles. trimmed the leaves in half because that's what other people do.

i took an old aquarium, washed it out with earth friendly detergent and put coco + worm castings on the bottom 3 inches in case the roots grow out of the plugs. lined the exterior walls with panda plastic. took an emergency blanket to create a tent helping with humidity and reflectivity. light is 4ft 2x26watt t5.

humidity at 80% and temps 65f. i will put a space heater under my tank to heat things up a bit. i'll try to get humidity to 90% and temps to 75-80f.

i'll update after the clones root.

a week and still no roots on a rockwool and plugz sample i checked. doesn't matter, i've learned patience. temps are low 70s humidity 60-65%. lights on 24/7.

i fed the mothers(still don't know sex) 1/2 dose of fox farm grow big instead of worm tea. 2 days ago. turned a few leaves dark green. flushed with tap water. left it out 24 hours to kill chlorine. they've recovered nicely from last weeks cuts. new growth popping everywhere!

need to get to the store to fill up on RO. tested the tap with ph test strip. was around low 7s. going to buy a honeywell humidifier because mine don't work...need a nap. I've gotta find my old aquarium air pump so i can try Lou's full proof home cloner 100%=1 week!!!!!!!. already have the air stone. just trying to clone cheap. have a feeling i'll end up with an ez cloner when it's all said and done.

just for fun i took 3 cuts from OBxC99 2 and put them into mason jars with tap water. curious to see if they'll root. maybe i'll wrap the jars with something so it's dark.

i also took 2 cuts each from a BBxC99 and 2 OBxC99s put them into gallon zip locks and into the humidity controlled drawer of the fridge. they were damp and i breathed into the bag before sealing.

don't want to cause anymore stress so no more cuts or nutes for little while.

need to buy dutch leech trays, cool tubes, ducts, tds pen. have the coco, bags, shelves, and lights for my stadium. inspired by - northern farmer hp stadium

Hey Reddy
I started a diary mainly due to the fact that I did not want 100 little scraps of paper hanging around, so I knew this way I would have dates, and picture evidence with it
You know the cheapest way I found to clone was to put a cutting in soil, worked like a charm, soon to be a mom plant now.
I grew in an old aquarium once, was a pain, great at first but they soon outgrew that area.
I will be back as you progress
Best of luck with your grow

dr. dog, thanks for stopping by. the aquarium is just for rooting clones. would be tough to pull off a stadium inside one. maybe with lowryder it could work. :chin:, might have to try that. i did have success before with putting clones into soil with lots of perlite. those clones were sativa dominant. my main objective with this grow besides having a ton of good smoke is learning and trying new methods.

did a little more work last night. found the air pumps and hooked one up to a 6" air stone. filled a large pot with tap water up to a half inch from the top. took 3 cuttings out of the zip locks from earlier. made tiny holes, placed the stems 1/2" to 1 inch deep into the the water. presto. if this works good i have another air pump and metal pot to utilize.

i now have clones in rockwool, b'cuzz power plugz, water w/o air stone, and water with an airstone. i'll give the success percentage of each when they're done.

bought a new humidifier last night. was on sale for $20. it's a warm mist type. might get a cool mist for the flowering room. it's getting dryer here. hooked up a duct from the humidifier output and then feeding it into my aquarium tank. humidity is now 85% and temps are high 70s. :headbange

14 days since i started cloning. the rockwool is my favorite so far. 100% success on 10. easy to tell with the slit on the side. it stayed very moist the entire time. thank god for humidifiers. so they now reside in sunleaves 1/2 gallon bags inside the aquarium. i think on thursday i'll finish my new spot for them.

the c99 x blackberry was in the rockwool. the c99 x cali orange was in the b'cuzz power plugz. i'm sure it has rooted(firmly held down) but they haven't popped through the other side yet. so i'll keep them where they are. i need more 1/2 gallon grow bags and finish setting up my new veg area.

moms are going into gallon bags soon. need wire cutters for the shelf to raise lights up more. need to determine sex to reduce their footprint. things are getting very very tight in their. light is not optimal.

washed a bale of coco very well. found a large piece of coconut. that sucks. first time though.

put coco into 10 1 gallon bags. put a wetting agent, a drop of superthrive, few drops of cal-mag plus into 2 gallons and flushed them good with that mix. these will be for parents and clones.

new veg area will be 2x5'. maybe 15,000 lumens or so. t-5s and cfls. i want a metal halide lamp but i want a few other things even more.

still undecided on the size of the grow bag for flowering. maybe short veg, single cola-1 gallon. longer veg -2 or 3 gallon. 5 is excessive for what i'm trying to do.

problems with photo uploads. picture update soon.

so about 1 month later after the clones have rooted and i've got 4 identified males out of 10. those father plants i sent into flower to be 200% sure of sex. 3 were Cali'o and 1 was blackberry. the orange sent is pretty strong in veg and early flower. smells like a spicy orange. much more indica dominant. i have 1 sativa dom. C99xOrange Bud that looks female. hopefully she's closer to the cindy dad. i love racy psychotic weed!!!!!

orange dads and their clones.

orange mom sativa

orange mom indica

the blackberry is looking more sativa. easy as hell to clone. lots of vigor. stretches A LOT in first 2 weeks of flower. low odor. my best looking plant out of all is a female blackberry. i've taken lots of cuts from her and is growing new shoots fast. i hope she gives me purple.

blackberry and sons

blackberry clone 10 days flower

update woops, my marking system for clones failed me. turns out a suspected male OB is a female! :headbange don't know if i had clones of it. hope the issue is isolated. the intent was to keep all female seedlings out of flower so i can clone at will. if it turns out to be dynamite, i'll reveg and clone. i've never reveged before. if the test smoke is positive i will.

rambling here....i'm thinking 5 gallon bags of coco for the moms. they've got to be strong for me. and with a bigger bag i won't need to water as much so i can focus on the clones and flowering plants.

i am done with the aquarium. got algae growing in there. not near the plants. i was nice for keeping the humidity and heat up but not clean. so i've got another spot for clones going. using lou's clone method but with so styrofoam this time to help support the cuttings. i'm also using plastic instead of a metal pot. seems ok for now.

new clones, day 4

old clones, day 14

my bagseed flowering plants have turned purple in parts because of the low temps at night. coldest night was 62 in there. usually in the mid 60s.

brickweed bagseed 64 days flower

hopefully be the next update, i'll know everyones sex, maybe keep one male around the house and i'll be into full on production. by march i'll be smoking some good weed. until then i'll have some of these to pinch off of. 2 more days and she'll be dry enough for my IKEA jars.

mexican brickweed seed bud drying - 60 days finish

if you didn't know they have the best ****ing jars for curing in. big sizes and shapes, suction cup easy opening. mason jars are a hassle. easier to sanitize, i will give you that.

IKEA stash jar, mexi sativa

males are all dead. had to be 100% sure and put them into flower for a week. wish i had the space for an isolation chamber and skills to make f2s. ahh well. i have more seeds to crack. females are getting cut up and cloned. problems with humidity in the cloning area, under 50%. i have a humidifier running non-stop. maybe it's the meter cause i dropped it in some water the other day. flowering is going good. want to save those pictures and do a bunch at once, showing a weekly progression. very low odor strains. building a scrubber tonight or tomorrow. moms are doing ok. the clones are getting more attention. it's a bit cold in the veg room. mid 60s. transplanted moms into larger bags. 1 into 5 gallon, a few in 3 gallon and 1 in 2 gallon.

when i saw their balls, i kept them around to tested how long i could go without watering in coco. before they start drooping. 3 days in a 1 gallon bag. i handwater 10% runoff everyday. flush every week or 2. roots and clones shots. practicing taking pictures. want a nikon d40 digital slr. sweet camera. christmas gift to myself maybe.

so far so good. these are easy plants to clone. big roots after 21 days in the airstone bubble pot.

roots, clones

cut my last mexican bagseed plant. 5 gallons of coco. maybe 4 ounces when dry. lots of trim. nice yield, very very sticky, too much trim though. maybe too much nitrogen. before and after.

before, 3 weeks or so

after chop and trim, around 10 weeks flower.

harsh supercrop spot

first clones have, i'm going to guess, 3-4 weeks to chop. half way there!! the pineapple scent is really strong on a few of the blackberry. smell is awesome! the orange is nice too. i'm experimenting with different size bags(1/2 gallon to 5 gallon), veg times(none to 2 weeks), topping, pruning(bottom branches, single cola). each are getting a different treatment. it makes things nonuniform but i'll have better results in the long term. eventually 1 or 2 of the best phenos and perpetual same style growing. no purple flowers yet. that's disappointing.

can't figure out macro pictures. taking shots in the flower room has been a bit of a struggle. will get better.

huge upgrades coming soon. can't wait.

Nice grow here. I'm a big fan of Mexi bagseed, even after all this clone only stuff. Nice find on the indy dom c99/orange, good luck with em.

i couldn't figure out my stupid camera (actually a nice one i just don't know cameras lol) for a long time. then i looked closer, and there was actually a button with a little flower icon on it that when you pressed went to "macro" style. made picture time so much more fun, so make sure to look all over and select through all the options. gl!

if you don't mind, why not, here's one of my favorite macs... someone said the stem looks like a little spider's leg haha, i like it
